No, and don't ride it. The first drop is good and the heartline twist is cool, but the rest of the ride bangs up your head so much that you won't be able to remember either of them. Go ride Nitro instead.

Giving a pretty good ride? Most of the times I have ridden it, I have heard people on our train get off saying "That sucks", "ow my neck" and "never again". I dont even think there WERE modifications to it. The transitions are just absolutely terrible, the back of the seats are hard plastic, the restraints have about zero padding and some of the turns are taken at too high speeds. Im not trying to attack you vertigo because maybe you know how to ride it properly, but the GP and myself just dont.

Nitro instead? Nah, go to medusa. Its just a short walk.

What is up with the bashing of Viper? If you ride it the right way Viper is a top tier coaster (IMO), i love the thing. Yes people get off saying "ow" and "that sucked" but in my book is is a very good coaster.

Actually my brother has worked Viper a bit and he said they mase the drop longer by 2 feet.

i enjoyed viper. But anyway nitro, why would they make the drop longer? wouldnt that make it faster and more rough?

I don't know my brother told me that piece of information.

Maybe so it can go through the inverted dive faster.

Viper was modified because the original profile allowed the train to valley under certain conditions (like cold bearing grease in the morning).

The ride is so painfull,and not fun anymore, its worth taking a ride once in awhile,but if you dont want to be in pain the next morning then dont ride it. I have a name for it other then Viper and its call "full body crack massage", becuase it literaly cracks almost all parts of the body some people pay to get cracked. If they had maybe some more padding on the sholder harnest, it wouldent be to bad of a ride. I think SFGAdv knows its rough ,and painfull,but If they made it too smooth everyone would notice its only like 30secs.

Viper is truly a masochists dream ride...

Hey, I have been on Viper and it is #5 on my list of great coasters, i love this ride (Your wondering how it can be that high, i've only been on 23 coasters) Also, if they had the drop longer by 2 feet, wouldn't it slow the ride down? The twist dive is still the same hight, the lift is still the same hight, the drop just go longer. BTW, if your at SFGadv and Viper is open, ride it! It won't kill you....

Yo Dragon82487. You shouldn't have to ride a coaster the "right" way. You should be able to just get on a coaster, ride it and enjoy it. If you have to get on and position yourself in a way that makes the ride less painfull, than it is a piece of junk. Kind of like Viper.

Chilla! you are right. Physics wise it would slow the ride down but the coefficient of friction is relatively low for coaster bearings....therefore it wouldn't even be noticeable

Personally, I don't think Viper is a great coaster, but I love its uniqueness. The hangtime in the twist & dive is very cool, as is the heartline roll. The only real problem I have with it is the sudden jerk to the left after the initial drop, but other than that it's pretty fun. It's sometimes refreshing when a coaster has a feel so completely opposite of the norm...the 'norm' being B&M's usual smoothness, flowing transitions, and somewhat clichéd layouts.
