Hidden Gems

Are there hidden gems are your homepark?

What do I mean?

A coaster at your homepark that no one rides anymore, or everyone hates but you still ride it because its soooo fun.

Mine would be RWB at SFWoA. I love that coaster. Yes it is "jumpy", but not rough. So it gives a very fun ride to me, and I totally dig the drops and the jumpy turns.

But Im glad olot of people dont like it, less lines for me ;)

NITRO ~ The most EXPLOSIVE coaster on the planet!

I would say Adventure Express at PKI. It`s not that big of a coaster, but I find it thrilling. Some people overlook it because you really can`t see any of it except when you in line for The Racer. When King Cobra was still around, I used to hear people that thought Adventure Express was King Cobra and not enter the line for AE. One plus about Adventure Express is that with three trains, even on busy days the wait for this fun ride are usually short!

Sorry coastersrz but personally I think Adventure Express is crap. None of the theming works and it just looks bad IMO. I hope Tomb Raider doesn't come to this same fate. I'd say the hidden gem at our park is The Beastie........... LOL it's better than Mean Streak.

WHo cares if the theming doesn't work, even though it does, but anyways, it's a good ride, probably one of the best mine trains out there.

The SFoT Mine Train is a good, old-fashioned mine ride with varying levels of speed, laterals, tunnels, and surprises. A classic.

Also at SFoT, Runaway Mountain is an excellent dark coaster. It's one of the best-themed SF rides out there, and it delivers a fantastic ride.

Those two are fun rides for the whole family, and they both provide a pleasant break from today's high-action-powerful thrill rides.

Lake Compounce-So Fresh and So Clean Clean

This is gonna sound weird, but the *hidden gem* @ SFA *HAS* to be ROAR. I dont know why, but I dont ever recall seeing the line for that thing be more than about a 5 train wait, usually 2 or 3. It's like people dont even acknowlege that it is there. But some days I'd rather ride it than S:ROS (blashphmy, I know :)).

Not that it's really hidden as it gives more rides than any other coaster in the park, but I'd have to say the hidden gem at CP is Gemini. Smooth, some decent air, and of course hand slapping! Its just a fun ride that never has a line. What more can you ask for? :)

2001 Magnum Crew

Mine would be Viper and Great American Scream Machine. The waits hardly ever more then 4 trains and about 8 for the front.

I would have to say Shockwave at SFGAm. The wait is hardly ever over 10 minutes long, if that. Most days its about a 5 minute wait.

Another ride at SFGAm is American Eagle. Im not sure if it is just because they are running both sides now, or just low popularity, but I haven't waited more than 10 minutes this season for a ride on this sucka. I love going backwards, I could ride it all day.

Cedar Point-America's Roller Coast.

I know some will disagree, but for my homepark, SFGAm, I'm gonna say Demon. The ride is not very rough, sure a shake or two, but no more, it has a great first drop, two fairly strong loops, two cool tunnels, and another somewhat tunnel, a decent double corkscrew, and a VERY short line most of the time. IMO, that right there makes a good hidden gem of a ride, although I know many will disagree.

i would definately say great american scream machine. it realy suprised me what a great ride and suprisingly smooth . only rough spot was in the bottom of the second loop

At SFEG most definitely it would be the Sidewinder. I absolutely love this Arrow shuttle loop coaster. The airtime over the first drop is the most intense I have ever felt on any ride. The loop also pulls some great G's. It is also a blast to operate.

Geez Mustang, weren't you just complaining about it yesterday? I wish I could get paid for sitting in a chair for 6 hours, only having to push two buttons, and wearing a nifty blue and orange safety harness.

I would say the Sooperdooperlooper at Hershey Park. It is a good looping Schwarzkopf coaster that has a great helix and a rather smooth ride for its age.

Cedar Creek Mine Ride at Cp. Always a walk-on. Still one of my favorites. Why? I am not sure...

Number one hidden gem of all time? Scorpion @ BGT. It might be the best coaster at the park.

The Texas Tornando formerly Thriller.

A beautiful coaster with large perfect circular loops.

No line at all so far for 2 full seasons!

Ditto. SDL was my favorite coaster in for years after I first rode it in '79, and it's still my favorite ride in the park, mostly because it gives me a feeling of nostalgia every time I visit.

Again, ditto (well, except for the 'all time' part--that goes to SDL, in my opinion ;) ). Chances are, any Schwarzkopf coaster is going to be the hidden gem of its park. CP's Wildcat, SFoG's Mindbender, all of his shuttle loops...they may not be the fastest or most intense coasters in their respective parks, but I always feel elated after I ride them. Schwarzkopf coasters are just pure, unadulterated fun.
