Hidden Gems

GO DEMON IN THE BACK ROW AT SFGREATAMERICAN. YEAH. It's a great ride that has the little dip of air time. It's a great small ride.
Shut your yapper J.:) When I talked about operating it you know I meant station side operator, not being exiled over on farside. I don't hate it, but lets just say there were other things that I would rather be doing than sitting on my ass for 6 hours. With that behind us, you cannot disagree with me that Sidewinder is quite possibly the best or second best coaster at Elitch's.

There is a hidden gem at my home park. I buried it in the woods after I stole it from an Egyptian pyramid, but pirates took my map, and now I don't know where to find it.

CP's Corkscrew in the back seat - better airtime than some woodies! (at least off the first hill - and that loop becomes as forceful as X-Flights)

Runaway train at sfgadv's is very fast paced and has nice natural landscaping and the hill before the lake has ejector airtime. My sister who is 26 popped all the way up on the hill I thought she was going to fall out. Gasm is very intense and smooth to me I liked it better than Medusa. Skull Mountain was a fun ride with a nice drop.
Ok, ok. The best "sleeper" ride at CP is definitely Cedar Downs. Historic, classic, fast, fun. Ride it at night with the woman you love. Does it get any better? I don't think so! :)

Since I live between two parks, I'll list two of my hidden gems. First would have to be Roar at SFA. Hardly ever a wait and a very fun, well run ride. GASM at SFGadv. Not all trains are equal though. It is a very fun, intense, smooth (yes, I said smooth) ride in the blue train. Most important is the incredible capicity that it has with all three trains running. And yes, they very frequently run all three trains.:)

Shockwave at SFoT is a hidden gem of sorts, but not because people don't ride it anymore-they do.... When they can find it! It packs quite a punch for a coaster built in 1978, but that's Schwarzkopf for ya!

Cedar Point: Blue Streak - hardly a line, plenty of airtime, what else could you ask for...

Great America: Demon - hardly a line, great airtime on the first drop, not too rough for an old Arrow looper.

Six Flags St Louis: The whole damn park! This place is the hidden gem of the Siz Flags empire. Do what you have to do to get to this park. It reminds me a lot of what Great America used to be 10-15 years ago.

You silly dude, your'e only food, for the DEMON"

What coasters do you think ae the hidden gems of the country? I would say:

Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown

Diana Beach Hurricane at Boomers

Desperado

Quicksilver Express

Chettah

Cannon Ball @ Lake Winnie

I think Lake Winnepesaukah may be the "hidden gemmpark" of the country. Except maybe Silverwood.

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.
Nitro, Gemini, Laser, Ice, Thunder...The American Gladiators!

Im going to add Mr Hydes to my list. Not many people like 1st generation drop rides, but I love em. Hopefully tommorrow there isnt a line for Mr Hydes ;)

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure Online

NITRO ~ The most EXPLOSIVE coaster on the planet!

i've always loved corkscrew at CP. `s been a walk-on every time i've been to the point.

as for my home park (dorney), i can usually get in like six or seven laps on thunerhawk without a line. great ride and i've never really seen a line. i have a blast screaming like crazy on the breakrun.

bam!

Call me crazy but for me, Shockwave at SFGAm is the hidden gem of the park for me. I know, I know, you all think it's rough as hell. Well, I don't think it's that rough at all if you site mid-back and brace yourself!!

Raging Bull= 100

I wll agree with AE at PKI being a hidden gem. I would go as far as to say it is one of my all time favorite rides.

But my pick is Leap-The-Dips at my home park, Lakemont park. For those who don't know, it is the oldest opperating coaster, and the ONLY side friction coaster in the world. Now one would think that a ride like LTD would be dull, but if you don't catch it on a bad day, this is the best ride in the park (which really isn't saying much but that's another story).

Another pick would be Dania Beach Hurricane at Boomers in southern FL. It is definately unique with it's undescribable humps before and after it's drops and climbs. It's just a tad on the short side but has good air and is GREAT fun.

Non coaster gems would have to be the Haunted Mansion at Knobles. Even though Knobles is not on my favorite parks list, I LOVE this ride. BOO!!! Hahaha

Viper @ SFDL, smooth, longer than most Arrow Loopers, fun, and short line

Jeremy is right that Roar is SFA's hidden gem. It's an excellent woodie that never has more than a train or 2 wait. And it flat flies when it rains.

PKD has even more of a hidden gem in Grizzly. It's not quite as good as Roar, but it is really hidden. The entrance is so inconspicuous that I usually walk past it the first time even when I'm looking for it. Then when I see the exit, I know to turn around for the entrance. The coaster sits back in the woods and is almost always a walk on or a one train wait.

That is so true. That is one of the finest parks around and there are NO lines.

By the way, best hidden gem, Rampage at Visionland. Very few people know about it, and the ones that do dont think it can be that good because it is at a small strugling park.

But hopefully good things will come soon.
