Don't I make it sound like a bad thing? lol. I'm going to Cedar Point in 10 days and I can't stand it. I am so excited that I wanna scream and cry. lol. What do all of you do to deal with excitement? I know these 10 days are gonna feel like 10 months to me but I wanna know how to pass the time. lol. I know it sounds crazy but if anyone has any, post em' here!

I never can sleep the night before a new park. Keep busy and don't concentrate on the park if you can.

No, but I'd like to know too because I can relate. Since I only get to go once a year, I get really excited. The night before is what's terrible. Next year I'll grow out of it though! My parents are going to let me drive it myself, so I'm getting a season pass!

Build a reaaaalllly long coaster on RCT. Then, retrack it with a different coaster type!

Seriously, get out and do something. Hang out with friends... ride around town... go hang out at a church... read a book... play video games... go to work with your parents... (someone help me, I'm dyin'!)

Funny thing is, the same thing happens to me before I visit any park. :)

Drugs and alcohol...that's how I pass the time. Wait! What do were we talking about? (J/K)

Seriously though, try to do stuff to pass the time in the next few days. Go to the mall, hang out with friends, etc. Try to get some sleep by thinking about other things than The Point (If all else fails, take a sleep aid...or the almight and drowsy-inducing Dramamine...be careful, they dissolve very quickly). If you have it, play RCT...if you don't...what's wrong with you?!

Something that would be right for your situation would be to try to get your hands on "Cedar Point: The Queen of American Watering Places"...it gives you a great glimpse into the past, and toublesome times in the park's history , as well as the Golden Age. It's somewhat hard to get your hands on though because it is farely rare.

I had the same kind of anticepation when I was a kid. I could never get to sleep the night before a park trip and in the daytime I was more then preoccupied with my excitment. I don't recall how i ever got through it. It's like Christmas but more intense. I would just daydream about going to whatever park for weeks and weeks before the actuial trip. The day after the trip was always a relief because I could get on with my life.

I don't know about others, but i outgrew the "unbearable excitement" as I grew older. I don't know if it dimmed because I have emotionally matured or because I just got used to going to parks.

Anywho, I know how it feels. Maybe get involved with another hobbie or something while waiting for your trip, like designing a haunted house for your friends and family for a halloween party.

I tend to sit on coasterbuzz, although, I do that when I'm bored to.

I can never sleep before a big trip to a park or a vacation. Before boarding Xcelerator I felt high and gitty.

I used to get so excited, every time I would take a breath, I'd get a shot of adrenaline. And then I would get so nervous that it would rain, or that the best ride would be closed. I would check the Weather Channel every 10 minutes...

I still get pretty excited before a new park, but only the night before, not weeks in advance. Sometimes I just go to bed early to make the time pass faster! And I use relaxation techniques to calm myself down. If that doesn't work.... there's always NyQuil. ;)

Yeah, I would be getting excited, but I'm done with coasters this year. :(

Don't fight it. Anticipation is the best part of any new activity. Work yourself into a slathering frenzy and scare the hell out of all your friends. That's what I usually do. Amazingly, several of them have joined me on trips.

I suggest going to as many websites as possible to get stats and reviews and info on all of the coasters you will be riding. Surfing coaster sites and reading stats about the coasters helps me usually. Also, take some kind of sleeping pill, I always do the night before.

I'm going to SFGAm tomorrow and I'm hoping I can sleep and I've gone some 4 times this year (not a huge amount for any of you but HUGE HUGE HUGE for me!) I've always suffered from it. Unfortunately my mom is drug nutcase meaning she is afraid of all medication etc. so unisom is out of the question I just watch Jay Leno re runs and all the infomercials on the tv the night before. After that first coaster ride, all your energy is back.

I'm going to Cedar Point in 3 days and 2 nights. I've lucked out, however, in that I've been able to keep busy in the last few days leading up to Cedar Point.

(Heh, actually what's been keeping me up the past few nights was thinking about this girl I met Anastasia...)

Take echinacea! Overexcitement taxes the immune system and will make you sick. I always get sick before a trip.
