Dealing With Unbearable Excitement

Go out and get laid. You'll forget all about your trip. If that doesn't work, hit yourself over the head with a sledgehammer. You should come to right around the day you leave.
Wonderful advice...easier said than done...to some, morally wrong...and what about people that can't even drive yet?

The Thrill....what if some people are not old enough to get laid...

I actually find personally that I enjoy a ride a LOT more if I haven't studied it's layout and stats to the 't'. I find that if I already know the exact layout of a ride before I get on, it's not very interesting. For instance, I had ridden AC so I knew what B&M hypers were like and I closely followed Nitro's construction, so when I got on board I already had in my head exactly what every inch of track would feel like. Sure enough, it felt just like it would have in my head, which, granted was really good, but I had already ridden in a million times in my mind.
That's so true, ApolloAndy. In 2000, with like half a day's warning, I found out I was going to go to PKI. I was insanely excited, and had good reason to be. The only ride that I knew the layout of was SOB because I had followed it;s construction lightly. It was very nice being able to experience the rides' layouts with no previous knowledge of where they went. It definitely gives you a bigger element of suprise. When I went to HW, I also had no clue about the coasters' layouts, and to this day I still don't know quite where The Legend turns...

Enjoy it while it lasts. The anticipation is one of the best parts of going to a park.

I can't help looking up the layouts to rides that I'm gonna ride. It's what helps pass the time. lol.

Actually, what you should do is plan your day at the park. Research the best ideas as to where to eat, what order of rides to follow, what souveneirs you might want to pick up, what to do after the park closes, ect.

After you do all that, then start planning on how to get laid. It's never too early to plan your future, LOL.

To help my unbearable excitement I plan what ride i'm going to ride first, second and so on.

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!

Jesus. I never realized that Cedar Point was so special to people who've never been there.

Alright SpongeBobAlex. Here's some advice. For the Park. (write this down in on a small notepad, and take the little piece of paper to CP)

Don't buy 3D glasses for Disaster Transport. They don't do a thing. Ride Wicked Twister in the back seat. Use the hand dryers in the bathrooms, they're f***in awesome!(Excelerators, I think they're called, they actually blow your hand AWAY FROM THE HEAT BLOWER .) Look at Area 51 and drool. Ride Mean Streak in front seat, if you don't, you'll get your butt kicked. Ride Millennium Force in front, DUH! Ride Blue Streak in front. Ride Raptor in front. Start your day with Mean Streak, and progress your way to the front of the park. That big blue thing will actually only get 45min. lines, unless you go on a Saturday or Friday. Ride Magnum in the third row, left side. Enjoy the steam in the last tunnel. Ride Corkscrew in front, but still be prepared for headbanging. Ride Draggin' Iron in front. Ride Wildcat, it's a good ride. Gemini, if they run both sides, BLUE ALWAYS WINS :). Ride Cedar Creek, even though it SUCKS.

Go to a party thats all I do and never get anxious before a trip.Just get your mind of coasters

Ooo Thanks SOOperGIR I know thats some good info. I think I actaully will cut and copy it and then print it. I guess I could officially called myself obcessed(aren't we all?) because last night in spite of my recent insomnia, I downloaded a picture of the 2002 park map and tried to draw the route I wanna take. These 9 nine are going too slowly...

only happened to me once, i started shaking as i got in the 3rd row line for X. It was weird, my legs and arms were shaking all the way up the lift. Either i was really excited or it was because it was like 40* out, SFMM @ 10 PM=Cold
Tonight is going to be hard sleeping. Tommorow Lake Compounce and the ever so popular Quassy;) Can't wait to ride Boulder Dash.

I really don't know if you should ride the coasters in the front or back first...in front you get some great views, but the trade off is a longer wait. The back usually has the most intense rides though. The one exception to this is that on MF, all the seats are as intense, so go for the front because the view is unmatched.

Word of warning....Keep you back off the seat of Mean Streak! If you lean forward and don't let your back touch the seat backing...it won't send every bump into your spine. :)

I suggest going to as many websites as possible to get stats and reviews and info on all of the coasters you will be riding. Surfing coaster sites and reading stats about the coasters helps me usually. Also, take some kind of sleeping pill, I always do the night before.

Great idea. You can download vidios from CP's official side and ride the coasters at home.

Cleveland.com has a live web cam. You can see the park in action. Enjoy your trip.

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

OK so buy the 3D glasses for WT, ride DT in the back seat, use toilet paper to dry hands because they burn right up with the heat blower, drool at the footers behind DT, lay back on Mean Streak, skip Millennium Force, marathon Blue Streak, do Raptor in an inside seat so you have no view, Magnum 2-1, listen for the FX in the tunnels...

Bleh, enough of my mocking. I'm going on Saturday and staying til Monday, and I'm excited as.... well.... something thats really excited!
