New ride ideas

hey i'm alway's flowing with ideas:

steel phantom 1991-2000, why don't you have flying dutch man seats on a s&s ride where the seats are facing the ground. That way you can look straigh down when you fall?

I would love to ride a multiple looping continious track coaster with only lap bars!!!

I would like to see some sort of lap bars on inverted coasters.

MMFan: Goto SFoT and ride Shockwave. It features multiple loops (hey two is multiple) and only lap bars. ;)

Me all I want to see is more indoor or well themed coasters ala RnRC.

I once saw a photo in the early ninties of a new coaster Arrow was constructing at their plant. It was given a prototype name of "Virginia Reel". You would sit in a barrel car (it actually looked like a barrel). 4, 6 ,8 ? riders would sit in a circular pattern on cars that would spin. The point was that no two rides were the same. You may go down a hill forwards one time, but ride again and be going backwards or sideways. What happened to this concept?

The only thing I have seen similar to it is a spinning mad mouse...but that it still different since everyone faces forward.

You are correct john peck. The Mindbender at SFoG does indeed have just lapbars. All Swarskopf (I don't know how it's spelled) coasters that I know of have just lapbars.

Doesn't the Mindbender at the West Edmonton Mall have OTSR because of an accident on the ride?

Yeah, West Edmonton Mindbender, Thriller, and Olympia Looping all have shoulder bars on them. For 2001, Thriller (now Taz's Texas Tornado) gets ugly new shoulder bars and the worst steel coaster seat mold I have ever seen. On the bright side, the shoulder bar mechanism is more conventional than that now used.
The remaining Doppel Looping and Silber Pfiel and other smaller looping coasters...most of those (all?) still have lap bars. In fact, Dorney Park apparently put two new trains on their Doppel Looping a couple of years ago, and stayed with the lap bars!

Magic Mountain's Revolution also has shoulder bars on it, but I presume you knew that already. :)

I believe the space shot shoots you up and you fall back with the force of gravity until you are pushed up again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Deja Vu will be pull up by traditional chain lift. Hearing it from the horses mouth wouldnt have me believe otherwise.

Say no, to lap bar nazis!

I don't see why it couldn't be. If you think about the fact that it's all vertical feet, that's a much shorter chain than any 200-foot hyper that gradually attains that altitude.

What about a titanium roller coaster? I know it would be very expensive but think of what it could do. Also, what if loops went under instead of over? It sounds confusing but this is what I mean: All loops go like _____O____ but what if one went like _____ ______? Does anyone get what

I would love to see a company bring back the Allan Herschell Sky Wheel, since Chance rides no longer have a license to build it

As long as you're bringing back old Velare Brothers/Allan Herschell rides (Velare designed the Sky Wheel, then sold it to Allan Herschell) why not bring back the Seattle Wheel while you're at it. john peck, you, of all people, would absolutely love that thing. Allan Herschell built exactly one, owned by Drew Expositions, and it was recently restored and updated; I rode it down in Atlanta last month during IAAPA. It's named after the original Velare Seattle Wheel constructed for the Seattle World's Fair.

sfga2001, I thought of the same thing a long time ago but when i thought about it the forces on the harneses on your shoulders would probably hurt very much. It would be cool though. One thing they could do would be do a half barrel roll and then the "Underloop" and then put you right side up with another half barrel roll.

Yeah that might be even better. Think of how much money a park would make if they put an under loop on a roller coaster? Wow maybe Arrow could develop that. You're right though it would hurt bad probably.

Couldn't they put an "under loop" on Stealth?
That way you'd get more flying time and still get the inversion. You could do the same with an "under corkscrew."
