Crazy, more than likely impossible idea, but it would be fun: how about a hyper with an underbanked helix? so that you are turning the opposite direction of where you would be going on most current coasters, and would likely achieve a feeling of prolonged negative g's? It probably would not happen in the near future, but maybe some day, you never know :)
I'm guessing you mean a helix that turns right but is banked left or vice-versa. I don't see the point in that. I mean, think about it. Now, I'm no RideMan (;)), and I've never even taken physics for that matter, but I'll just try to explain why I think this won't happen.
If the track is turning right, but the bank is left, wouldn't that push the rider's body into the restraints? I would think that would cause some pretty interesting pain.
It's almost like the Superman: The Escape question. (I think that was another thread...) Somebody thought it would be a good idea for S:TE's trains to be turned around so you would go up the spike backwards. The problem there is, upon launch, you would be pushed into the restraint instead of the back of the seat.

I know, that idea defies the idea of physics, but it would still be pretty fun, no? I mean, just one 360 degree spiral would give you a good 3-5 seconds of negative g's. Still, it would never happen, just an idea that popped into my head :)
A loop with a tunnel.
A Barrel roll for woody
There are Virgina Reels on RCT.
How about a Flying Dutchman where the trains start out in the station suspended and the seat tilt up instead of laying down when the ride starts? I have a few names for that type: Blue Angels and The Vulture.

1.) Medusa (west)
2.) Stealth
3.) Goliath
4.) The Riddler's Revenge
5.) GhostRider
SFGA 2001 I have thouht the same thing! Get a garden hose make a vertical loop and look at it the other way so it faces down :)
How about inverions which are like the opposite of most inersions, instead of 4 G's you get -4 G's, hahahahaha.

What is life without geniuses?
Hey, I know. How about a roller coaster where you lay on your stomach and you're strapped in by really tough seat belts.
I still think B&M's next coaster type will be a flying type with flying as the defualt position.
I also have considered the underloops/ underbanks... an underbank would work, but the designer would have to calculate the speed so that it stayed at 1-1.5 Gs, so you get air, sort of, without excessive pain.
I agree with a previous post about an inverted stand up. That could be extremelly awesome.

You build it, I'll ride it
I have a wacko idea for a coaster, even though it would NEVER work. This will be very difficult to explain, oh well, here I go! Intead of having the running rails above (or below, dealing with inverteds) the base, they would be on the side. An Inverted train would be placed below, and a Stand-Up, Floorless, or regular Sit-Down train would be placed on top. The 2 different trains would use the same wheels. Using this, you could have two different types of rollercoasters using the same track. The only problem is, there wouldn't be anywhere in which you could attach supports to hold it up. I'm getting the feeling I didn't explain it well enough and everyone is going to think I'm weird....

turn Raging Bull into a hyper-standup-twister by changing the trains. Or put a "bat element" on an inverted (curious about that one, eh?) That's my own personal creation that could possibly work.

Screamer,
I see where you're going with that and you're right supporst would be a problem unless there was someway to construct a track box think enough to put both track types and support attachments on the side. The supports would have to be huge however, and the loading station would be huge. (not that that's a bad thing.)
Great idea though. You'd be able to get a lot of people through in an hour, and parks love that.

I see what both of you mean. That would be awesome. I think it would be hard for mechanics to keep running though. It would probably break alot and it could be dangerous.

Where have you heard about that, because coincidentally I came up with that Idea like 2 years ago, and I thought that I was the only one but I guess not
I thought about it myself in '92 after first riding Batman, and there have been several threads about it on this site.

well sorry sfga2001 but to say, that your loop idea would not work, there would be to much blood flow to the brain, and that can cause a "red out", there would be to much negetive G's on the body.
