I doot it!! IIRC there is only only trim location and its right before the hammerhead. Atleast its not on an airtime hill

I don't think I've ever been stapled at SFGAm, and as for RB, I've had the misfortune of only being at the park once this year so far, (May 5th), and it rode exactly the same as I remember it from the year before.

The Bull crew isn't bad at all. The only reason I bring it up is because this is the first year I've gotten stapled. Out of the 50 or so times I've ridden RB this year, I'd say I got stapled 5 times. Not a big deal you say, but it kills the ride.

How do you get stapled on Bull? The way the seats are designed, it's ridiculously easy to get away with having several inches between you and the lap bar. How? Keep forward in your seat (butt off the seat back) and the bar can't staple you.

...just one thread....there could be a whole entire website devoted to the massive amount of trims on Bull....good thing there were other good rides there, 'cause all the hype about this ride was just plain.....Bull......nice layout, I bet it was great fun "back in the day"....bummer...:(

I've gotta say, the trims on that third hill, if you're in the front, provide even more air on that hill. Simple physics, you're going at a set speed upward decelerating at a set pace too, then all of a sudden, the brake sets in, and your body wants to keeps going up at that same pace, then the track bends down in time for the air to continue on through the rest of the hill. The only problem is that yes, some intensity is lost for the next two hills, then you hit the mid course brakes anyway, which don't totally stop you (look at the air you get on the first 3 drops after the hill) or anything. Anyway, when the trim's off before the figure 8, that thing's a masterpiece, when they're on, well, it's not as good, but still decent, I still usually get a little air on that little drop in the middle of the 8, but not as much. Anyway, I don't feel the trims totally kill the ride, maybe hurt it slightly, but it's still a great steel masterpiece, and IMO, the best steel coaster that I've been on.

Hey do all of you remeber raging bull's first season? wel if you do you should remeber that those trims used to not do a damn thing. It is my belief that they have always been there but they are increasing their power every year. I've ridden the bull over 581 times and those trims in my opinion are pointless. Bassicly they just take away all of the airtime on that beautiful thrid hill. If those were gone that area would be everyones favorite part of the ride. Of course no one at Great America really cares what we enthusiasts say so i bet those trims are staying. as for your question SFGAm Viper yes i believe all of us same guess follow the great america stories so closely because it's are home park. And i can't wait untill the Bull gets untamed if ever.

Sit with your butt scootched forward? That's when they come over on AC & tell you "you cannot sit that manner, I operate this ride, you must have your back & HEAD against the seat while I lower this lapbar". CRUNCH, staple, staple.

It reminds me of that thread about getting lapbar room, you try to "get away with something", the ops reserve the right to correct the situation.

Nitro has trims at the bottom of the 2nd hill, and right before the hammerhead.

I always get at least 1 maybe 2 fists from my lap bar to my lap. Never had any such problems.

Who decides how hard the trims go on? Is the ride ops, mechanics or who? I'd like to know, because they completed neutered a once Raging Bull. The first drop is great, and the rest is relaxing, like a really smooth kiddie coaster. It's nowhere near the intensity it had last year, and it wasn't even that intense last year, so that says how it is this year. I hope they lighten them a little, because that would really suck if they ruined one of few B&M hypers with trims. Regarding Nitro and brakes, "Dun, dun, dun, another one bites the dust..."

SFGA2001, To my understanding the trims are controlled by the computer. Ride Ops can't flick a switch and turn them all off or turn them on harder. I think maybe the reason the brakes are being used harder is because the ride is broken in and is getting fast so the brakes are applied harder. The trims were put in for speed control so that every ride would be the same and the amount of braking depends upon how full the train is and the weather probably.

The thing that really bothers me is that now the ride is more based for the whole family which should not be the case. This year more than ever I see little 8 year olds running around telling their buddies how awesome the ride is. IMO they should be running around the Demon (still awesome coaster) bragging on how they can survive 4 inversions. It's supposed to be an extreme ride not a family coaster.

I've never had a problem with the ops telling me I couldn't sit with my back off the seat (to get more room). Then again, I've never tried sitting on the very edge of my seat to get a foot of room, either. If you're reasonable, chances are they will be too.

Nitro's Trim by the on-ride photo is only a precautionary valley-trim. It is absolutley never used, unless a rollback occurs.

The one before the hammerhead, however, is still going strong. It doesn't take a lot of speed off, but it's loud as hell!

btw... on the Nitro tour last year, the instructor said the trims are only activated in "Extreem conditions which may make the train exceed an allowed speed". Now, I know this includes warmer weather, but does weight count?

at least it's not as bad as MeanStreak...i actually haven't been to SFGAm this year but it could always be worse...MeanStreak...what a waste of wood...
