Raging Bull Trims

I rode Raging Bull last month in the back seat and had one of the best rollercoaster rides EVER. However, this month I have visited the park three times and the trims are stronger than ever, it is SO incredibly frustrating and the ride lacks intensity immediately after the trim on the 3rd hill. Anybody who rode it previously and very recently, have the trims always been on so dramatically? And why would they put them on so much when they have such an awesome scream machine on their hands? I think SFGAm could really be in the "major leagues" if they got that ride up and running the way B&M intended.

Hey, I had the same complaint/observation about AC last season. The brakes on the third hill grabbed loudly & slowed down any of the intesity that had been on the third hill.

You know what, though? People said that B&M had designed the ride that way to catch trains moving at certain speeds, yada yada yada, & that it had always been that way.

Although concering AC, I feel the same way as you do about RB;). The third hill NEVER had braking like that, LOL. It makes a differnce.

I find it funny that on every post dealing with SFGAm, its the same 10-12 people that comment on it...are you guys watching and ready to rebel?? :)

I never notice a difference in ride on Raging Bull, I always have the same awesome ride each time. I am never bothered by the trims on the third hill since they have been there since the day it opened. I think they trim down to the same speed everytime. I think you only feel like your getting slowed down more now is because its hot out and your going faster through the first part of the ride.

It's true. There is a difference in the rides Bull is handing out this year, as compared to the first 3 years. I was stunned at how much less of a powerful ride it was this year. Ever since the first ride of the season, I just haven't gotten the orgasmic bliss I used to get. The drop is still powerful, and one of the best around, but that third hill used to dish out powerful air, now my butt is in the seat all the way down. :(

Down with the trims!

Awww, then I guess Nitro is the only untrimmed beast. Oh well......

When I went on Raging bull last year, the trims were not that big of a deal. Just don't think about them when you are on the ride. You are making it sound like you are putting down the ride because of some trim that lowers the train's speed by about 5 mph. It's not going to kill the ride experience, is it?

And besides, SFGAm is in the "major league."

The only thing I noticed about RB last week was that it is getting rough in one spot. When you go down the one drop and go back up into the high turn around ( it reminds me of a loop on it's side) it's rough going up the hill into that element.

Actually, Nitro does have trims. They dont ALWAYS activate, but lately they have been grabbing pretty hard..

That sucks about Raging Bull! Lately ive heard some not so great things about it due to the trims. Lets just hope the Park/Manufacturer has a good reason for the trims.

Trim - midcourse brake...two different tings bwoy!!!

Whoa whoa whoa... Everyone is acting like the ride is dead. Give it a break. The trims do grab on a little harder, but the ride still provides plentiful airtime. In fact, I have no grip about the airtime. My only complaint is the forceless figure-8 finish. If they loosened the trims before that 8 turn, this ride would not only provide great airtime, but it would pull off a nice, negative-g laden turnaround in addition to the air. Would it be nice to experiance a trimless ride? Yes. Do I enjoy this ride more than any other B&M creation, or any steelie over 200 feet? Yes. With a layout as good as Raging Bull's you just can't go wrong.

Yea, both of Nitro's trims were on when I went 2 weeks ago. Not hard though.

That's the thing Ozzy, last month the day I rode, there were no trim before the figure 8 and I got a ton of air on that little slope into the final turn the whole ride was a non stop rush!

I must agree that the first drop is still as intense as ever, now we just need to get every ride op not to staple ya! :)

Oh man, I know what ya mean about the ride-ops stapeling. Not good stuff... I've had the same problem on American Eagle. If you catch the right op, they push themselves down on your bar. On Viper, the ops don't even try to staple you. An airtime filled ride is sure as the sun, whereas on AEor RB, if they staple you, it's over...

Wow, I just got back today and I was there yesterday too and you couldn't be more right, AE is TERRIBLE when your stapled, I tried everything sitting a little further forward, I've stuck out my gut as far as it can go, everything but they really do weigh on you! I did get one good ride today and the first drop catches your stomach like no other drop in the park but you don't get that with your lap bar so far down you can't breathe.

Watch out Nitro is the next victim of Trim Brakes ;)

Stapling problems at SFGAm? I must be very lucky. On RB, the last 2 trips there, they basically forgot to check me. One guy just touched my restraint and checked the person next to me, and a girl lifted mine lightly to check, not pushing. AE I had no problems, either. I had an easy inch or two, they didn't care. Viper, they tried to staple me once. They couldn't get it to the next click. I guess I'm at the perfect body dimentions to keep almost 2 inches of room, without killing me to make it go to the next one.

But RB is fine. Yes, the trim does make it a little weak, but you still get air in the back. If you want a wicked ride on it, go when it's 41 degrees. I didn't feel either of the 2 trims at all, and down every drop, the air felt like the first drop's. The figure 8, instead of pulling what feels like 1.5 Gs, felt like 2! (That statement was sarcasitic) Thats my only gripe about the ride. B&M designed the 8 too perfectly. It's banked so you get no laterals, only light positives.

yea the one ride op on ae that looks like harry potter staples people really bad, otherwise the rest of the park doesnt
