Even *I* feel the SFWoA's Serial Thriller is vastly inferior to Raptor, and y'all know the state of (dis)regard I hold for Raptor!
That being said, the SLCs all tend to be rough, but not all of them hurt. T2 bounced more than a 25cent gumball machine "Super Ball", but it didnt hurt a bit. SFWoA's Serial Thriller only demonstrated the bad transition but (last year opening day) all of us came off with red ears. Serial Thriller @ SFAW and Mind Eraser @ SFA are minimally jerky and cause minimal discomfort.
My advice: "Ride Defensively".

The other is Hangman at Wild Advantures in Voldosta GA, and it is very well kept, not much of a headbanger and a fun ride.
Also keep in mind the SGB are also Vekoma creations, and De JaVu' is damn smooth for Vekmoa ride, it ain't B&M but still very smooth for Vekoma.
I went on 2 SLC. The first is Top Gun at PCW... In 1995, my comment was "ouch, that hurts". In 1999, fun, a little shaky but not as rough.
The second is the "Vampire" at Six Flags Belgium, a 1999 one. Nice station and landscaping around this one. The music is also good (they passed Micheal Jackson "Thriller" during a breakdown in the station! How's that for atmosphere?). Its smooth. I mean, its doesn't hurt at all and the seats are comfortable. There's one big problem: its SLLLOOOWWW. I mean, the ride barely makes it through the sidewinder and double barrel rolls. So you have it, smooth and slow or fast and violent... Sorry, I'll take a BTR, which is smooth and fast!
