This Fright Fest at SFO, there were days when Batman and Serial Thriller were down to cold.

I agree, as I would go, but there aren't nearly enough people that would go for them to even consider it, as they would lose money rather than gain it.

I like winter cuz this is the one time of year that crappy coaster Colorado turns into the best place to be fer the skiin'.

Oh bah! We went to SFNE for Supermania and it snowed, but we still got our morning ERT on SROS. (I know, hehe, temperamental Intamins, had to use a big old heater under the platform so that they could run it and it was running pretty slow)

I was glad I got an opportunity to wear ski goggles on a coaster though - a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I'll take my CCI 364 days of the year. And when I want to go skiing, 1.5 hour drive is all I need. 5 to 6 hours to get to the big mountains. :)

ARROW GUY those are some impressive models! The bug looks so real. I can't believe it was scratchbuilt! You need to take some pics of the entire park on your layout! I bet you have lots of hours on all the rides!

You don't wear ski goggles everywhere you go? I must be doing somthing wrong. LOL

Anyway, the only bad part about winter in Michigan is that since we are coaster barren (in the Southern part of the state), so it just means that we have longer to drive, fly, ect. to get to any coasters. Thank god for the indoor fair at COBO. That kinda helps. Otherwise, in this mountin ridden state (if you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic), you can always go sledding. Just like coasters only with less inversions :).

Skiing. I love it, I love it more than coasters. A big ski resort is nature's amusement park.

Want REAL airtime? Try a terrain park at a ski resort.

How about going wherever you want to go, the ride changes everytime, and NEVER gets boring.

You go as fast as you want to go, you want to go 50 mph?, you can do that.

How about a 30 minute long ride, with a 15 minute ride back up (at 20 mph, or more, on some lifts), WITH NO LINES (If you know where to go).....

I can hardly wait for more, already went skiing once this year. This is the best time of year. I actually pity you poor souls in Florida....hehehe

I only go about twice a year so that's a drawback.

Skiing - nature's coaster. Don't forget the inversions! Backflips, twists etc. How about a quadruple flip & twist as with aerial skiing?? Try doing that with a coaster! Has anyone seen the movie 'Fire & Ice' with Roger '007' Moore? They have a crazy race and there's an actual LOOP on the ski run. Approx 25'in diameter. No trick photography! They have a cleverly-designed net to catch the skier if he/she doesn't have enough speed to make it thru. They have upstop skis for the beginners - just kidding! ;-)

Coasters - The Ultimate Creation!

Yeah...skiing is great and all, but those of us who are massively uncoordinated will just stick with the roller coasters. In my one high school skiing trip I was *proud* to conquer the slope named "Frosty." My pride was only flattened by my fall on the next-hardest slope, "Easy Rider." What is especially bad is the fact that the reason I even went on the trip was to impress a girl. I don't think she was too impressed with my skiing abilities. I think it's easy to see that I prefer the coasters!

Well, it's taken me too long to appear, but let me tell you why winter is great. Coastergod says it all, skiing offers all the thrills of coaster riding, even more so because you are in control (or not). There is a lot to be said about a great day on the slopes, stopping in at the bar for some brews, and spotting some pretty women, wearing skin tight stretch pants, sitting around the fire.

I guess Jeff knows all too well that I talk about skiing, drinking and snow bunnies in the winter, and boating, drinking and bikini clad women in the summer. :)

The only reason I dislike winter is because you can't go on coasters. As for skiing, which I haven't done in 13 years atleast, I don't own ski's. I might be going to Island's of Adventure in Feburary. I can't wait for media day at sfga

Natalie... you should be flattered! I, like many men, celebrate women for a thousand different reasons. Just because we love the visuals doesn't mean we don't respect women. They do rule the world, and we do what they tell us. I'm certainly OK with that!
