Most reliable coaster??

I was just wondering at what are some of the most reliable coasters out there? I know obviously that Deja Vu isnt going to be on the list, but I was just curious.

Mostly all of Cedar Point's coasters, but I have my if's on Wicked Twister. I dont trust LIM's.

CP is definitely good with maintaining the track and trains. If there is a bad wheel on Magnum it is usually 10 minutes or so to change it and the ride is back up and running. Having said that, I'd say rides with less complicated control systems are the most reliable in general. The less sensors, drive wheels, moving parts, etc, the less there is to go wrong. There are lots of little quirks that can happen with the computers on rides that can cause downtime. Maybe it's just me, but Intamin rides seem very bad in this regard. I love their rides, but reliability is a little suspect.

What about Millennium Force? It's an Intamin creation and I consider it VERY reliable.

I don't - not compared to some other rides at CP! It seems as though every other time I'm in line it goes down at least for a short time. Compared to rides at other parks, maybe, but it doesn't earn the nickname "Maintenance Force" for nothing. Demon Drop is another Intamin ride that always breaks... ;)

Flume Crew for 2002!

I don't know if there is a true reliable coaster, but I would say the old woodies seem to run consistently with no problems. Take Blue Streak, Coaster Thrill Ride, etc. You know the drill.

Was that a joke? WoF has had their boomerang for two seasons now and it's been broken down every time I've been down there. I've also experienced this with SFA's Invertigo.

Agreed. Boomerangs don't even come close to being as reliable as most coasters.

It depends on the park. Cedar Point, Six Flags, and Paramount keep there rides going and I have never been to CP or any other park for that matter and have a rides break down.

Racer at PKI seems really reliable. When it was very cold, that was the only ride open there. It didn't break down once. Raging Bull is also very, very reliable. I have only seen it not running once, when it was raining very hard.

Agreed, I_Love_The_Gemini. Regardless of how reliable the ride is, it's up to the park to take care of it and run the ride smoothly. Recently, (I won't name the park ) I saw a minor vomit on a big red Intamin hyper. It took them over 1 hour to get the ride running with people again. I couldn't believe the ops stood there for 45 minutes until someone came to clean it up. Another park took 30 minutes to get a worker to unlock a stuck restraint.

Reliability is a big issue, but even the most reliable ride can suffer number of riders if not staffed well in many areas.

Incredible Hulk...that's all I'm saying.

It's not the coaster as much as it is the control system (or lack thereof). The exception would be something like MF with a lot of new technology. I bet a lot of their downtimes are due to something with the lift.

Yes, but it has small breakdowns like most coasters. Hell, it was only closed one day it's opening year! That's pretty good if you ask me.

Yea right. The WOF Boomer is down alot. In fact last Sun when I was there they were down for 2 and a half hours.

There's one coaster I've been riding alot and still have yet to see it break down. Wildfire at SDC. B&M done a great job with it.

Basically, B&M stands for reliability and safety....

But if you go with "innovative" Vekoma coasters, you're asking for trouble....
