Wildest ride in the rain.

With most all parks opening this next weekend, and the threat of spring rain always looming, I was wondering what was your favorite ride in the rain?

Last April at BGW, My wife and I rode Alpengiest in the pouring rain. It was great, the thrill was almost doubled! You can't see a thing, and the rain stings a little.

So how about you?

Back in 97 on Magnum. We were half way up the lift when it started hailing. They anounced over the loud speaker that we were the last train of the night due to the weather. It was the craziest/most painful ride of my life. I ended up with a small cut on my eyebrow. In the end, it was a great ride.

Hmmm, the scream machine at SFoG last season was pretty crazy in the rain. I almost got to ride Cyclone in the POURING rain this season but with restraints checked and all thumbs up they got the maintenence call to shut down the ride. It sucked really bad. I was looking forward to that one. Oh well, maybe next time.

Big Dipper last year at SFWoA. It started pouring down when we were on the bunny hills....OUCH! I can't imagine how bad it would be on MF....or even worse Dodonpa.

Just realized that I wrote "Wildest ride in the ride" for the title. Sorry about that. Looks like there is no way to change it.

I was with RllrCstrDude187 when it started raining on Big Dipper. It was pretty painful and I bet if you were riding MF in the front seat and it rained as hard as it did that day, you would end up with welts on your face...um, OUCH!

Last spring in a downpour on Roar at SFA. The front row gave a whole new meaning to the term "wet ride". The back row on the next run gave the ultimate ejector are. My daughter can't waint to get caught in another down pour so we can do it again.

That is a good incident. We were on Nitro on Columbus Day for the NJAA shingdig and it downpoured leaving the station. In true fashion, the ride kept going, and the train full of park managers kept going. We could not even look straight forward the rain was stinging so bad. Man, it was a fast ride.

Volcano was pretty good in the rain, and of course me and my dad HAD to ride front seat... "Ow! My eye!"

Ever ridden the Beast while it was snowing though? Now there's a great ride. ;)

Airtime woodies are all at their best in the rain, really slicks up the grease - well, on those woodies that are greased...;). Best rain ride: Dania Beach Hurricane. Wildest (painful): DD in a cold downpour last "winter"....

Americana (Now called The great americana amusement park at Lesourdsville Lake) is opening in 2002. Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

Hmm..only ridden two coasters in the rain and one probably doesn't count. Face/Off in the middle during a little shower..couldn't even feel it where we were sitting. Cheetah at Wild Adventures was a different story, though :) Front seat, steady sprinkle as we headed out of the station, quickly picking up as we went up the lift hill. Was a steady rain by the first drop and hurt! hehe...brakes didn't want to grab very well when we pulled in, so they shut it down after that. Was one heck of a nice ride, but not sure I'd want to deal with the stinging sensation again. I hate rain anyway...with my glasses, I can't see anything :/

Batman Knight Flight in the rain was fun yet painful.

But nothing compares the Beast in the rain. It seems to go even faster.

X Factor is right-- The Beast in the rain is the ultimate ride!

Rode MF in the rain once--it WAS painful! As soon as we got back to the station it started to hail! There was one train behind us still on the track (the shut the ride down when it started to hail) and we waited around to see their on ride pics--they were pretty funny. Everyone was hiding their face and cowering in pain!
