Point taken Hostyl. I do knw of some enthusiasts who do drink, but they usually drink outside the park as the alcohol in parks, for those that sell it, is more expensive than a football stadium:(.

I don't know what it is... but generally speaking the enthusiasts I encounter won't head out to a watering hole after a day at the park, favoring instead a Denny's or (yuck) Steak-n-Shake. Maybe it's just the people I know?

It's the people you know. Also, speaking from personal experience, the last thing I want to do after spending all day in a park and before what was a long drive home was get buzzed (pun intended). Now that the drive home is a little shorter, this all might change.

Hey, Jeff...sounds like you have the makings of a new poll: "Coasters & Beer." Not that I like them simultaneously, but I'm a "strong advocate" of both in their own little world!

I do share the opinion that, after a hard day's work in the perpetual walk for "one more ride," beer just don't get it 4me. But on those days away from the grind.....

Heh heh...Scott, Mr. Steak 'N Shake himself, hits the nail on the head. Yup, Jeff, it's the crowd. And the long drive...for some of us involving small towns. Heck, I remember one time I was pulled over for suspected OMVI and I was, in fact, more sober than the typical judge...

Some of us simply never got into the habit of consuming frothy adult beverages. That, and some of us have expensive tastes in that regard...I have an (empty :( ) HB bottle right here, for instance.
Not a teetotaller, but not much of a drinker either. In parks I can't afford it, and otherwise...well, I tend to prefer sweet drinks.

Seriously though, drinking isn't what it used to be in college, but every once in awhile it's nice to tie one on. Cost is really no object, because frankly when I'm at a park I'm on vacation. BGW actually had some of the most reasonable pricing I've seen, perhaps because of the brewery next door! Alpengeist was the first coaster I rode buzzed, and I don't think I'd do it again. It amplifies the motion ten-fold, and that could prompt a return visit to lunch.

On the other hand, plop me in front of a good show and keep them coming!

Welacome aboard, Missy. I for one don't drink (even though I'm 26 yrs. old). To me, when you mix alcohol(sp?) and coasters, you get barf city. Usually what I do after a day of riding coasters is that I go home and relax my feet or any bruises, if I'm riding Son of Beast. :)

There is plenty wrong with Girlie Lemonade. You can't drink more than five within a half hour period without getting this insane citrousy burning sensation. Also, you can feel it just sit in your stomach. If it was up to me, I would have to say there is nothing more delightful then a nice Yuenglin Lager, George Killians, or a tasty Molson Canadian. Yummmmmmmmmmm!

Girlie Lemondae, is that in reference to like a Electric Lemonade where you can barely taste the alcohol?...But, I would agree Molson Canadians are *the bomb*.

Hmmm. Molson's eh? Never had it. But I'd be willing to split a six of Killians any day. That's great amber refreshment *yum* :). Have to admitt, that's about the only beer I consider tasty (though I drink MGD more often). And forget the "hard lemonades"..if I have to have something light like that, give me a WoodChuck; hard apple cider...that would have been great for Fright Fest!
