New Park Planned for Omaha

But if they had the money to pull it off in about one year's time, than it is possible, right?

My guess is if this does go though it'll be more like a Arnold's Park esque amusement park.  Not really big, and probably only featuring one or two coasters max.  To me this is fine, and actually sounds like a cool idea.  Personally, I think if they built a classic out and back by CCI and a wooden twister by GCI and had the rest of the park with a few nice flat rides and some nice shops then it'd be a cool place to visit.

Just wait till next year!
I'd have to agree with that.  I don't see any way how Omaha could support a signifigantly large park.
Like OmahaCPFan said they would have way more room for expansion if it were out by Lincoln/Mahoney State Park.

They would need the money, the land, the plans, and a lot of cooperation from local officials.  Even then it would probably be somewhat limited.

From what it sounds like they all but have the land, they have the support of the locals and have the money.  They are good to go it sounds like.

Oh and interesting to point out www.papaspark.com is under construction (the owners of the new park)

GO HUSKERS!

Any city could support a large park if they know how to draw people to it. Omaha has a good chance since they are improving there tourism(partly due to Council Bluffs) Plus the Omaha area is getting to be a fairly large when you add all of the surrounding towns and smaller cities.

It doesn't have to be near a major city to thrive. Look at Silverwood, Holiday World, and Visionland (ok, bad example)

I'm not sure if it's just emotional attachment, but you've got a CCI in your trackrecord and this is your no1? ;)
