What do you think would the coaster world would be like if Millennium Force would have never been built?

Do you think Nagashima would still build Steel Dragon 2000? Do you think Heide Park's 412' coaster ever be built?

What would the coaster world be like without this record breaking coaster?

I'm sorry, but I thought that the title was absolutly hilarious. I thought you meant that MF was forceless. anyway, I doubt that the world would be drastically different. yes, the world would still go on and coasters would still exist even without MF or even Cedar Point for that matter. speaking of CP not existing, I've been trying to convince my roommate that CP sucks. just for fun, of course, and its nothing that I believe to be true, but its fun nonetheless. :)

Wasn't SD2K in planning longer than MF? If thats true, then MFless would have no effect on SD2K.

too painful to think about it.....but other than that i think that 412' would still be built but probably a 100' smaller.

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.

Maybe CP would build their own 400 footer to top Heide Park's...:)

It is definitely hard to measure the impact of one coaster on the whole amusement park industry but i think that MF sped up the Industry. A 300 foot coaster was going to happen eventually. MF was such a giant leap that the thrill level has heightened for all companies, so in a way MF had a impact on all the new hypers and prototypes that are popping up in the last few years. I am not saying that MF cuased coaster designers to think of new prototypes but I think that MF added some heat to the coaster war, spurring amusement chains to find unique and different coasters. MF set the standard for the new millienium and so now in general the thrilling experience of a coaster is set to higher standards, MF had a preety significant effect on this notion.

Millenium Force and Steel Dragon 2000 were bought extreme experiences but neither felt complete, as if it were the ultimate thrill ride(giving a plethora of all the major elements). Both rides, stop and make you wonder," What was missing? Could I improve on this? How could I do better? " All question that spur your mine giving you the ideas so that someday you'll go out there and be the one to design the Ultimate Scream Machine.

Vertigo, did you ride SD2K? It sure felt complete to me. Heigth, speed, airtime, laterals on the tunraround, length, tunnels, no OTSRs, great location, butter-smoothness. What more do you need to make a ride complete?

I bleive that SD2K was going to be a 300 foot coaster, but after MF was announced they did add a couple feet to it making the coaster taller then MF.

Is that possible? To just add a couple of feet? I would think that would mess everything up unless it was like a flag or something.

A 300-footer would have been built regardless, which is especially obvious since apparently Steel Dragon was already in motion. It was just a matter of time.

Now these crazy Europeans... they're really getting out of control lately, and that should be good for their tourist economy I'm sure!

Look at the layout of sd2k, if you just extend the lifthill a couple of feet and make the lifthill that much taller it would have negligable effect on g forces and the like.

SD2K only 9 feet higher drop and it only 8 feet taller then Millie. Not that it makes any difference anyway but I have heard it rhough the grapevine that this was teh case.

The Steel Dragon 2000 was actually cut down in size,due to the complaints and fears of the local government.

No it wasn't. Where's the proof of that? How bout a link to back up your claim? I've seen it with my own eyes, there is no more length for it to extend along the same path. It runs the length of the penninsula it's on. Any more heigth or length and it would be in water.

Just playing devils advocate here: trees surrounding the ride, terrain elements, and a surprise ending. :)

i like millinium forceless!!! it's very funny. it is the most overrated coaster in the world. compared to sros in sfne it's like a galaxi.
