Its too bad.  69 years old, way before his time.

While it has very little to do with coasters, I think that anyone who appreciates the world of business should take note of Dave.  Kind and generous, he fully supported the idea that one of a company's main objectives is to give back to the community.  Having been both Wendy's founder and spokesperson, he was probably one of the most recognized of corporate figures and did an excellent job of representing the restaurant chain.

He will be mised by many.  Including myself.

This is why I think there should be a "General Talk" section. Because of events like 9-11 and because of celeberties death, such as Dave Thomas and other people.  But when that plane crashed into New York after 9-11 there was a topic about that, and it was closed, so I'm pretty sure this one will be too.

Accually Denvers-coasters-suck, check the Jump To menu at the bottom of every board. You'll find an archived forum about 911. Sure, Dave Thomas may have been extremely well known, liked, and a great man, but I don't think it warrents a General Talk forum. Want to see a really good general talk forum on a coaster site? Check out CoasterForums... Thats a joke over there, and I'm sure Jeff knows that gen talk forums can turn a site into just that, a joke.

I loved his hamburgers and his commercials, this is a sad day for America. I always eat at Wendy's when I am on a coaster trip.

Uh, I can hear you people getting fatter.  ;)

So long Dave.  I don't agree at all with yer politics and despise the role that you've played in the ever increasing homogonization of the world by huge company's such as yours, but hey, what's a boy to do?

Fuuny, people who worked with him on TV commercial shoots thought he was a big jerk. Whatever. This is as off-topic as it gets.
