Mmagic Mountain lines

During the summer what are the average waits for each coaster.  And could I do all the coasters in one day or mabye two days.  Thanks.
The crowds at SFMM can be very unpredictable, however, you should be able to ride all of SFMM major attractions if you go on a weekday (excluding Friday) in the summer. I would suggest planning on staying until 10 pm, when the park closes, since most crowds will be there for the day, especially camp groups. Whatever you do, AVOID SATURDAYS!!!!!!!!!! I would, however, plan to spend two days at SFMM if I were you, to ensure you are able to ride all the attractions!

Well, this summer there will be Deja Vu and X to hit, in addition to the others. Both (at least now) are really slow loaders.

Right now, my best guess on a pattern would be get there well before opening and sprint to X. After that, hit Deja Vu, next Superman, then Riddler. From there on, it would be a crap shoot. Goliath has good capicity, so even a full queue moves well. The rest of the coasters usually don't have long lines, but you never know.

But, by all means, take Matthew's advice and avoid a Saturday at all costs! Talk about a zoo, OUCH!

Last summer, weekday lines were:
Goliath: About an hour.
Superman: Hour or more
Riddler: Hour or more.
Everything else was about 30 minutes or less.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!

I always go in the summer on saturday's and on holiday's and you don't have to worry about going for 2 days. I can guarenteed (ugh, cant spell!) that you will get all of the coaster's in, and 9/10 of the rides if not all. If you miss a few rides dont come back cuz SFMM's rides are not anything special.

Such immaturity in this one. Would this be what Jeff calls a flamer or a noise maker?

I think he was commenting on SFMM's selection of non-coaster rides, which are less than stellar. All of SFMM's "Spin & Pukes" are 20 years old or more. They put all their expantion dollars into coasters, and I'm not complaining about that.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

Hey B&M Rocks,

If you are going to go in the summer, be sure to go on a Tuesday.  Tuesday's are the least bussiest days of the week.  If you are going to go both days though,  I would go Tuesday-Wednesday.  The hotels in the area usually have their specials on these days.  Oh yea, have fun!

I am going to SFMM for ACE's coastercon in june. I'll be there on sunday through wednesday. Could anyone tell me whether the lines will be short throughout the days. I'd like to know mostly what the less popular coasters lines will be like cause i'll get to ride the bigger ones during ERT.

Thanks

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.

DejaVu is an EXTREMELY SLOW loading ride and even a very short line take a long time to get through. I waited 20 minutes and was only three trains back. OUCH! Batman's lines also always seem to be rather slow moving, though I still cant pinpoint why. Superman's line can be quite slow, especially if they are only running one side. Riddler has huge capacity, and the line move pretty well, but is usually a MASSIVE line. Havent been there for X yet. Ninja's line seems rather slow moving and I usually dont bother waiting for a second ride. On the other hand, Goldrusher NEVER has a line and is kinda fun. Goliath can be long, but as stated before, with all trains running it moves pretty good. Viper and Revolution are usually pretty busy in the morning because those are the first things people see when they go in and head to the Baja Ridge Area (X is there now too), but usually have very small lines later in the day. Collosus can move well at top capacity, but very slow if they run less than capacity. None of the rides should be TOO terribly bad during the week. I was there on a Wednesday in August this year and the only wait over 30minutes was Superman. If you go during the week prior to Memorial day or AFTER Labor day everything is nearly a walk-on.

Oh God.     Why  do you people  post  such things.

I usually go when it is very hot. Went last summer when it was around 118. Most of the crowd goes into the waterpark leaving the Amusement park relatively empty.  Maybe I just went on a good day. All I know is when I got there the parking lot was pretty full, but the rides were virtually walk on. And I could see the mobs in the waterpark.

Me -> So ture Jeff is Bad, SO TRUE!

A lot of parks follow this trend...
Monday - lowest attendance of the week.
Tuesday-Friday - attendance gradually increases steadily.
Saturday - peak attendance (avoid the park)
Sunday - less people, but still fairly crowded, and then it bottoms out again on Monday.
Of course, special events and holidays can throw that off.  Surprisingly, I noticed that holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July have moderate numbers of people, not packed like one would expect.

MisterX, I have to disagree on one point. TUESDAY is the industry SLOW DAY. Notice that many parks dont even have their parades or some shows on Tuesday only. Monday can be busier than Tue-Thur because some people take 3 day weekends (Sat-Mon) (Fri-Sun). Not that Mondays are really that busy, but Tuesday is definately THE day to go. Wednesdays are also VERY light.
