Are Premiers and Arrows dangerous for kids ?

Do you think they are dangerous. With how bad Robin shook before the lap bars you would think that would do some serious damage to a child. My brother is 8 and I'm afraid he will get hurt on a Premier or Arrow. What are your thoughts.

Who here rode them at that age? I did. If it truly was dangerous they would not be able to ride, but it may be a good idea to "preview" rides before you take any questionable person on it.

Do you truly think a park would build a ride that would harm a child? They are in the buisness to make money, not kill kids...

Don't worry, kids bounce.  I could fall out of a tree at age 8 and get right back up and climb again.  Now, at 22, i'd be in the hospital if that happened.

No it wouldn't..i rode it and it wasn't that bad. I didn't feel the least bit of pain. I don't think a child would feel anything but airtime!

Ok. Think how many kids ride that sucker a year. Have any died? Not that we know of. Do you really think a park would have a ride that would be unsafe?

I could see how Shockwave at SFGAM could not be safe actually for anyone at any age, I rode it last summer for the first time and it was horrible. Once I got off my neck pain was so bad, I could see where somebody would end up with severe neck or back pain.

I'm not very old, 13 in fact,and my most painful ride was a Vekome SLC a couple years ago.

One speed Doesn't Fit All!

My 7 year old brother power rode Shockwave with me. This ride isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Just think of it this way, if SFGAM decided to slap a SBNO at Shockwave, then we'd have a Drachen Fyre Part 2. Enjoy the ride while it lasts. The only really bad part is before the mid course breaks, and thats only in the first couple of rows. I can understand where everyone comes from with the Shockwave and Gasm criticism, but sometimes it can get blown out of proportion.
I hope i don't sound mad or anything, it's just way too many people hate these rides. Oh yea, and BTW, my 7 year old brother looks forward to riding it again.

Of course it's dangerous. Look at me, when I was 8, I rode Shockwave @ SFGAm. The same day, that combined with IW really messed me up. I've never been the same since.

I hope you're smart enough to figure out I was sarcastic. They are no more dangerous to kids than they are to adults, in fact, probably more dangerous to adults. If you are (needlessly) worried, keep your bro on Medusa, thats a new B&M, so it's smooth.

I think Arrows aren't dangerous for kids expect for Shockwave at Six Flags Great America. That ride hurts like a *****!

In my opinion, I think Magnum XL-200 would maybe be dangerous for a small kid.

Actually, childern's bodies are less fragile than an adult.  Their bones are more flexible and haven't fully hardened, lessening the likelyness of a break or other permanent injury.

My son and I go to all the amusement parks together, and this year is the first year that he is over 54 inches, and able to ride every coaster at any park. He love the GASM, and Chiller at SF Gr8 Adv. He also loved the Jokers Jinx at SF America. My son is only 9 years old, and he'll ride any coaster at any park I took him to this season. His favorites are B&M inverted, and Hyper coasters. He loved Magnum, and thats another arrow. His favorite coaster of the season was Nitro, but then again he didn't get to ride Millenium Force yet. Thats next season. He's looking forward to it after riding Superman at SF's America. I agree with the other posts that kids are more durable than adults. I know how I was when I was his age. ;)

I love Premiers now with lap bars and padding on the restraints. If I was under 13 I would think FOF would have killed me hell I rode it last season and it almost killed me.
