If you could bring one coaster into the 1920's...

I was thinking about this at school the other day. If you could time travel back into the Golden Age, the roarin '20s, and you could bring one coaster with you to show people how far we have improved in coaster technology and engineering and howwild today's rides are, wha would it be? I would bring X, it has a new feature never seen, it has the height, and it loops, too. What would you bring back?

I would either bring X, MF, or a B&M inverted

...I would have to say X-Flight because of the whole flying concept. I think people would be afraid to even watch something like that, let alone ride it!

I would have to say MF,X and SOB would definitly be taken with me if I could travel back in time to the 20's.

If you wanted to show them how far we've come, something like Volcano The Blast Coaster would be ideal: inverted and powered launch (and themed).

I think I'd prefer to take 20's coasters back to today...

Honestly, I'd take back Raven. The point would be that the simplest thing are often *still* considered to be the best.

Otherwise, I'd take Hypersonic and watch everybody pass out! heheheh

Good call.  Either a modern woodie like the Raven or Boulder Dash, or better yet, maybe the Coney Island Cyclone to show them that something that was great back then is still great now.

Then again, the looks on their faces when they see an Intamin Impulse launch from a standstill and up a dead-end tower would be priceless!

I don't think a metal coaster would be a success in the 20's.  Most people preferred to watch coasters like Flip Flap and the Bob's and other "outrageous" wild rides.

How, by the way, can anybody know if X is going to be a dud or a hit when nobody has ridden it yet?

Maybe bring back any GCI or CCI to show how much influence the designers of the past have on the designers of today.

Although I am a certified CCI nut, I'd have to impress them with Millenium Force. Heck, the structure alone would have them rolling their eyes. I doubt that none but the foolhearty would take a ride.

Something BIG, like Millennium Force or Steel Dragon.  Close to what they'd be used to (no loops, inverted trains, or anything like that), but much, much larger.

I also agree that I'd like to bring a few rides from then back with me to now...

I couldnt of said it better! They were probably ALOT more intense.

I would definitely take a looping coaster that was completely opposite of the way they think of riding coasters.   Most likely a B&M standup, inverted, or floorless, just to let them see how crazy and twisted coaster layouts have become.

I would probably bring back Alpengeist, besides X, as I read in my previous post. Alpengeist shows off a certain amount of height, and offers inverted track and inversions. I don't think I would want to bring a woodie, since back then they already knew woodies through and through basically (except for new trains, like PTCs).

CoasterGuy, PTC was around back then, even built coasters as well as trains...
