Hey this is right up your alley because a good Intamin Hyper cost around 12 million just like you have been looking for. Hmmm, I coulnt tell you about a Giga, maybe 18-19 million, or with the lift system it might be more less now because mf's was a first of a kind and they needed to plan how it worked.
Do you have 12 million dollars that you want to spend? If you want to spend it so badly, I'll do you a favor and let u give it to me! JK seriously if you do have 12 million, I'd open a mini-amusement park with one used steel coaster, or a new CCI, and some cool flat rides, and earn a profit so you can start getting bigger and better things. I feel like a marketing teacher lol.
I doubt that the elevator lift system on MF added that much to the cost of the ride. With all of the parts it uses being standard parts from any elevator catalog, I can't see it adding more than maybe $2 million. The real cost in buliding a Giga comes from the raw materials. You need more track (longer layouts), more steel (taller and stronger supports), and more concrete (larger footers).

Possibly Titan_Fan. It cost 20,000,000 DEM (Germany Deutsche Marks) to build Expedition Ge-Force. According to a currency converter I tried (I don't know how reliable it it, though), it would cost appox. $10,000,000 to build in the states!

Hey...if you're looking for an Intamin Giga, I hope that you have $25 + million to spend! MF alone cost $25 million. With a regular chain, it would probably be $24 million.
Please don't even TRY to ask what a B&M Giga would cost! Nitro cost $22 million...only 230 feet as opposed to 310.

What makes everyone think the elevator system on MF costs more than a chain? Think about it. A huge steel chain with a huge motor compared to a elevator cable with wheels and a small motor. You don't pay for engineering, you pay for the material, and a huge steel chain costs plenty more than elevator cable.
C'mon, it's a legitimate question. Who cares if there was already a thread like this. It's about a completely different company, and there was a different question in the beginning.
The only people trolling in this thread are the ones dissing the question.

I think a cable lift would be cheaper because the elevator lift goes steeper, thus less supports, think about it, the cable lift takes way less supports than a chain lift. The materials for the supports are probably very expensive. An EGF in your park would be awesome. Will you just tell us your age? I am not questioning your credibility or anything, I just wanna know.
Cable is cheaper, I should think, because I'm pretty sure SD2K uses TWO chain lifts to get the height. And if Titan Fan really has $12M, I should hope all us buzzers would at least get the first ride after providing all this help...LOL!

The cable lift is almost certainly cheaper. The steeper slope reduces the quantity of steel required. The cable also avoids the limit of chain mass that requires a double chain lift such as is found on SD2K. A further major advantage of the cable is its high speed, reducing the time spent on the lift. This is one the things that contributes to MF's high capacity.
