The old Steel Phantom track (which was grey and black, not purple) was scrapped and melted.  It's in that Pepsi can you're holding now.  (Okay, so they're aluminum, it's a cool thought.)

kpjb, sorry, I'm colorblind....can't tell black from purple...I had no idea what SP's color was. :)  Although I can tell PR is green!  (I hope it's green anyway!)   They should make cars out of the SP steel and sell them to coaster fans.  The Honda Phantom!  Limited edition! ;)

And I would buy that if it were a Honda.

hahah! yeah, I;d love to have a prelude made of steel form the phantom! so cool, it would be black with grey trim. "Honda Prelude, Steel phantom edition" I mena it would only be the unibody, door and boday panels made of the steel everythin else would be stock but it would be kinda cool. but yeah if it wa sin bad shape it could be studd heading for the scrap heap. junk yard wars!

It probably still could be what remains of Steel Phantom.  I don't think anyone here could verify whether all the track has been melted or recycled yet.  Chances are that it hasn't.  It was probably heading for the incinerator somewhere.

Maybe they are installing the loops on drachen Fire to make it a 13 inversion ride. No headbanging there!

Well, just to make a statement....
Not all people like to be selvish, but some are. For example, I have seen many "strange" things in my life without proof, but that doesn't mean I didn't see it! I still tell people, whether or not they believe me. When someone said there was a sign at SFDL that said "New attraction coming soon"... I didn't beleive it... sure enough it was there. I could go on and on.. but just because there isn't proof doesn't mean its not true...but, on the otherhand, "some" people like to tell lies...

You say this was going south from Butler.  So you saw this before reaching the exit to Pittsburgh?  That would definately rule out the Steel Phantom.  I'm from around the Butler area, so I know what you're talking about direction wise.  Really it could have been going to/coming from anywhere.

WHAT!? they stopping production of the prelude! dang. and they;re such good looking cars too. yeah I guess those of us who liek to wish will start to wish for the v6 accord coupe. I;t s close ;cause I think the prelude and accord have shared the same platform for like ever!
