Deja Vu @ SFGAm

Chitown

Monday, August 27, 2001 12:09 AM
Was there this last Saturday and all I saw was a couple people working around the ride on the ground and one person up on one of the vertical towers. No moving cranes or anything significant was visible.

Prepare for a 2002 debut for Deja-Vu at SFGAm.

Hey Chitown,

I was there also...Heard ya lost weight...Congrats on that.  Too bad it had to be the way you did it though.  I am glad to hear your feeling better and all.  Sorry bout the pukey incident on Eagle.  Guess your bud had one too many Bud's (weiser that is).

I too lost weight.  I was previously unable to ride Iron Wolf due to my gut.  I finally was able to do so on Saturday.  I also was almost able to attach the belt myself on Vertical Velocity.

As far as Deja Vu goes I did notice that they had started to install the valley floor at the bottom of the second tower and loop.  There was a crane next to the ride sitting idle.  I guess if they busted there rumps they could have it ready by the weekend after Labor Day.  But that is a BIG IF.  If SFGAm actually has the trains on site I would expect to see them on the coaster soon.

the six flags website says that deja vu is still set to open later this year. so maybe if we are lucky it will be open for fright fest. i dont think they want to be sued for false adverising again so hopefully they are right.

thrillride. I am sure the website hasnt been updated in awhile. What are they going to get sued for? They pulled all of their ads for Deja-Vu about 2 months ago and if you go on the website they are claiming 11 coasters. Earlier in the year they were claiming 12 so that basically says they are not counting it for the time being. A lawsuit would have no grounds or basis.

I was there on Sunday, the 26, and the same two wheels were in the same place. There was a worker in the station with tools. He was looking at the track and doing stuff. Did anyone notice the black crane? If you came from Southwest Territory and walked through the County Fair area, you could see a crane over by Iron Wolf. It was right behind the Six Flags Kids store. It wasn't by Deja Vu, so I don't know what it is working on. A new ride? I hope so. It looks like the area is pretty open on the park map.

I saw that crane too. Right behind Fiddler's Fling. As for it being for a new ride, I doubt it, as there is a service road right there. It's probably from Deja vu and on it's way out now.

When I saw that crane that the last two posts are speaking of it appeared as though it was hanging over Fiddlers Fling (a flat ride). Maybe it was there to aid in repairs or that flat ride will be replaced next season.

Just to let all you curious people know, the wheels are part of the catchwagons which lift the train up the vertical towers.  The crane you are all talking about is just a park-owned service crane.  Today, I did see however what looked like they were routing the lift cable because they are no longer draped over the lift motors.

Which, of course, could have been done months ago as the first thing to be done was the towers.. Of course SFGAm gets the dumb engineers.

I just pray SFGAm gets a 4dm. coaster within the next 2-3 years

Another update for all you Deja Va fanatics.  All vertical tower work seems complete, the cables are attached to the catchwagons (pulley cars in other words, which are on).  The valley platform is complete other than it needs a coat of paint.  The ride itself is complete, minus the train.  All landscaping, ques, and signage is in place.   From this point, A fright fest opening is a definate yes!!

That's good to hear Rapidsboy485, I just hope GA actually announces the opening day of DejaVu unlike V2. I just went to GA hearing that the ride was open, and to my luck, it was.
