What is it like to ride a Flying Dutchman ?

Iwas looking at some pictures of X-Flight today, and I was wondering waht it is like to ride a flying dutchman ?

X-Flight Looks AWESOME with that cool bright line green color for the track.

It feels like the harness is just going to bust open . Around the helix it feels like your heart is going to stop. It's an awesome experience. My fav. coaster.

The experience is just so different that traditional coasters. Hanging in the harnesses really tricks the rider into thinking it's a much more intense coaster. The forces in the loop really gave the sense of your skin being ripped off your face.

you forgot to mention the wildest part is the Loop !  you pull some intense  G's there .  X Flight is one heck of a ride  you can't describe it you have to EXPERINCE IT !!!

Is it better than Stealth ?

I would say X-Flight & Batwing (copies of each other) are better than Stealth because of the extra helix at the end. I would think the heartline rolls are also better than the corkscrew rolls. But to tell you the truth Titanfan, I very much disliked my ride on Stealth. It was a real dull ride and did not meet my expectations at all. And my expectations weren't even that high. I was just really looking forward to riding it and now it ranks as one of the most disappointing rides I've ridden along with Desperado. Most of the harness keeps your head from getting the best possible view of your 'flying' and it is uncomfortable because all of your body weight is rested on a restraint. The loop also pulled a lot of painful Gs. And to answer your question, X-Flight, Batwing, and Stealth each costed around $17 million.

Batwing is slightly better than Stealth. The twists are better than the corkscrew, plus BW has the added helix at the end. I personally loved both, and found it to be a pleasantly fun idea from Vekoma.

It feels like the harness will break. That is easily the scariest part of the ride for me because I am so small.

Im ganna ride batwing somtime this week. hopfully its open. now qestion about the rider confort those the lap bar cram you in your stumich? since all your weight is leand  into it? also do you get a good lossing the stumich sensation and if so what parts of the ride? of i get that alot on that coaster i will be on it all day! you dont get that in alot of coasters today. and if you do im amuned to it so it dosent bother me.also wheres the best seats to sit in? (if it matters?) and will batwing be wroth a 3 1/2 hr car ride? along with the rest of SFA?

Flying Coasters are snug but not painful. They are quite comfortable, and nothing smashes any part of your body too tightly. The restraint kind of conforms to your body. (You'll see what I mean). I'm 6'6" and I had no discomfort.

Despite what everybody says about Vekoma, these coasters are major winners.  Even though the operations on them aren't any thing to be excited about, they deliver an experience like no other.  I was extremely impressed with my two(and only) rides on X-Flight.  It's not big, it's not long, but the minute you flip over, you know that you are in for quite a ride.  If you love positive Gs, then FDs deliver them in spades.  I highly recommend these rides, even if they are dubbed as the"next gen clone".  Go ride one today, you shouldn't be diasppointed!

 

The g's are SOOOOO high on the loop! It's great!

I live close to sfwoa, so i can ride x-flight as many times as i want, but the lighting could be better and so could the name and they could actually run the third train and the line is usually long because the stupid employees take forever to load the people in and only two trains! Riding X-flight feels different but most of all it feels clonerific!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, to simulate what it feels like while you're waiting to leave the station, you will need a sofa and a 300-pound assistant. Lay on the sofa with your back on the base cushion, your legs resting against the back cushion and bent at the knees so that the backs of your legs are draped over the top of the sofa. This means your head is hanging off the edge of the base cushion and dangling towards the floor. Okay? Now have your 300# assistant sit on your chest.

It's a neat ride, but it isn't quite the flying sensation you might expect because you're not really in an outstretched flying position; you're really in a seated position, but with your back parallel to the track.

Yeah, It felt gave alot of the freedom abd flying sensations B&M's do. They feel like the ride very well. You can tell there real rough but yet there thankfully is nothing for youe head to crash into so its glass smooth, The loop is great and the entrace/exit you got the most awesome g's there are. At the top, the hangtime sends your whole body crashing on to the restraints. It feels alot like your flying but not quite, but closer than a human will ever be!

Don't let the "slow" speeds fool you, these are intense rides.  The closest experience I've had to the Vekoma flyers is the skycoaster - the "Superman" feel of flying face-first into the wind...the noise, is that my heart pounding or the sound of the onrushing wind.  Really, if you haven't ridden one yet, GET to one.  Stealth was a little shorter, and minus that exquisite helix, but all of them are excellent!  Can't wait to see B&M's version (go to Europe or wait for one here) - make that RIDE a B&M...who would just LOOK at one!   P.S.  I've been TOLD that they are a little more comfortable for men and those with, um,  flatter... chests...

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but FD's feel like you are crushed and are fighting to breathe. I went on X-Flight and Stealth and both times I was stapled unmercifully. The OTSR's are very big and soft. When you get stapled, your lungs get crushed. It sorta ruined the ride on both.
