Who says we have the best? We have more, but not necessarily the best.

Are we spoiled here in the U.S.? Well, it sounds like you are.

We're not spoiled. Other than Alton Towers, we are the most advanced country.

I grew up in New Orleans in the 60's with just 3 coaster for hundreds of miles, and only one of those built in the last 20 years.

I now live in Baltimore. I have 50 coasters within a 100 mile radius and 150 coasters within a 150 mile radius. New coasters are built every year. Spoiled? Yes, and happy for it.

We are spoiled...but not just because we have a high coaster to citizen ratio (CTCR). Just remember to look beyond the horizon every once in a while. There's a lot more to the world than burgers, movies, and cars.

I totally agree! B&M and Intamin have spoiled us too much! But who said too much is bad:)? And Bruce, your signature is pretty cool, except for the fact that PCW is getting Ricochet too!

I'd say that with the likes of Ghostrider, Goliath, Medusa, Roar, Giant Dipper north and south, Riddler's Revenge, to name a few helps CA qualify.

Any region with good wood qualifies.

I'm not spoiled, I live in Kentucky and the closest park is Camden Park in Huntington, WV. I consider it an award when I go to PKI or SFKK.

We are spoiled! Back in the old days all a park needed was a merry go round, a ferris wheel, a good old wood coaster, and a midway. Now we have the most amazing coasters and we keep wanting more, more, more! Taller, Faster, More Inversions, Give me, give me, give me. I WANT MORE, and if its not exactly how great I thought it would be then I am going to cry and whine about it.

i am glad people are finally realizing human nature. Humans have the tendency to want more and we are usually never satified, especially americans. I just cannot understand it but it is part of the human phsyche.

Spoiled? Maybe... Lucky? Indeed.

Love being 40 minutes from the best coasters in the world, not to mention all the other great parts of Cedar Point :D

You are only spoilt for choice of parks to go to.

We are definitely spoiled here in the states, although I would be the last to complain. I have been all over the world, and I have never seen such a high ratio of coasters to people, and yet we are always complaining. Just to keep things straight though, the Japanese have the tallest, longest, and fastest coasters in the world, so there is always catching up to do. They have SD2K, Dodonpa, and Fujiyama. We have Millennium Force, Ghostrider, and X. Who can complain? Neither. I just hope the current coaster renaissance doesn't end. I like being old enough to see many of these different coasters, and young enough to enjoy them all.
