Are we spoiled?

Well if you put it this way, california has the rides that most of the east doesnt have (like X,Goliath,Superman The Escape, Steath, Gostrider, Big Shot (Las Vegas),and abunch of others. I guess you can say were a little spoiled
No mater how spoiled we are i think that we all just have to enjoy what we have and have fun on whatevers out there.
Spoiled...yes, I live in Illinois, and The Raging Bull has certainly spoiled me, now if i didn't get more of B&M's goodness in for the summer, i'd cry like a little baby...The good thing is that i always get more of B&M's goodness into my summer, so I don't have to resort to crying like a baby;)

Isn't that exactly what amusement/theme parks are suposed to do? I don't pay tons of cash to rock in a rocking chair. Though, sadly, we are NOT spoiled. You should be able to get into a great park with 10-15 coasters and tons of other great rides and things for about $25. But, no it's $35-$50 plus $5-$10 parking. And those are the inexpensive points. A "6 inch" (actually 4.5") pizza is $5-$7. A bottle of watter is $2-$3. To play a pathetic game (not that it effects me) it's $2-$5. A skycoaster can cost more to enter most parks. The most inexpensive to opperate rides cost extra, go-karts, skycoaster, that trampoline thing, climbing wall, etc... A SF season pass may seam cheap, but what SF doesn't want guests to know is that they could let people in for free and still profit like crazy from all those hidden charges. SF charges way to much in the first place. What's SFGAdv price up to now? about $45, right. IOA costs about the same. Theme parks cost a lot more to operate than amusement parks. Four basic animatronics cost just as much to operate as a simple gravity coaster. Universal and Disney may charge alot, but they don't have nearly as many hidden charges and what they do charge, it's for a reason.

Whoa... how did I end up there?

Well, anyway if we were spoiled, parks wouldn't profit so insainly... We would get, not only what we paid for, but we would get more. We would be profiting, not parks...
The parks are spoiled!!!
I predict that by the year 2021, Cedar Point's admission will be $120 and $21 to park.

We are extremely spoiled. Look back to 1990. Only 17 coasters opened! In 2001, 68 coasters were built! If someone's home park doesn't get a record breaking ride, the cry. A classic example was in someone's signature:

"Sigh, SFNE goes small for 2002." or something like that. Please do us a favor and shut up.

Don't look down-Oblivion

As a Brit, I don't think America is spoiled with coasters.  The fact that you have so many is a reflection of  many things, namely: your public demand for rides; large and rich population; vast amount of space; relaxed planning laws; and the spirit of enterprise.  There's nothing wrong with it.  I wish Britain was more like it.

more than agrees, all we have is that stupid desert storm. i dont think we are spoiled at all, i mean, come on!! thats like saying just because we have movie theaters we are spoiled, every country has movie theaters, just because america might have them every 100ft doesnt mean we are spoiled, that means we are greedy, same goes for the amusment industry, granted, amusement parks rock, but they arent doing it to give us joy and happiness, they are doing it for the money.  and remember, japan has the best coasters, not america, and germany is getting the worlds tallest in 2002/3, so if this was a good question, then it would still be no.

If were spoiled then we should keep being spoiled who said its  bad to keep being spoiled, if we didn't get spoiled amusement parks would be out of business and so would all the coaster manufactures. So keep being spoiled.
