Is Millennium Force worth it.
Overall, I would say that this is not an "enthusiast's ride." Enthusiasts in many circles don't seem to find the sheer speed and power of the ride to be enough. However, as someone mentioned above, just look at the rider reaction after every ride. It's a winner.

After my first ride on Millennium Force last year, one man got off the ride and exclaimed "That was better than sex!" while another rider was frantically lighting himself a cigarette. That's about all the proof you need. The best time I've found to wait in line for MF is about a half hour before the park closes. A night ride on MF is positively awesome. Have fun!
Yes, MF is absolutely worth it...ALL coasters are worth it. Yes, some may not "float your boat,"
but most will, and the point of being an enthusiast is to be ENTHUSIASTIC! So go...and have a great time.:)

A night ride on the front row is even better...
i just got back from the Point a week ago after a 8 hour drive from new york, and stayed in the park for 2 days. during that time i rode the Force three times and every time i was even more blown away. the Force doesnt have the air time that the S:ROS has but the sheer hight of the first drop and the speed after it is amazing,it was so fast that my cousin was trying to talk to me during the ride and i could only se his mouth move due to the speed.although i only got 2 ride in the back , i was a little dissapointed i didnt get to ride in the front and see what that is like,but i plan next year to get the front seat once.

MF is my favorite steel coaster by far. I agree with Jeff when he says that most enthusiast don't care for it. I just came back from the ACE preservation conference and most of them thought I was crazy for liking it so much. Some of them kind of made fun of me. They seem to like Superman New England the best. I rode Superman and I liked it but, not nearly as much as I like MF. Nothing can beat the drop and the speed in my mind. The people who rode Superman that I saw, did not have the same reaction when the train reached the station as the people do when they get off MF. They go crazy when they get off MF. It is what a coaster should be, fun.
MF is an awesome ride. Definitely one of the best. Its my favorite ride and i dont believe its overrated. CP, magnum and some of the other rides are too overrated but not MF. Its fun, its intense, its big, its intimidating, its one of a kind.
So, go there and have fun.

I consider myself an enthusiast and I like MF. Let all the other artsy and politcal enthusiats go crazy over S:ROS. I like it because of rush you get when getting off. It combines awe, wonder, fear, speed, and air time for a good mix. Its a simply fun coaster. Everyone has their opinons about this coaster and every other ride. That's what makes all of us unique

I journeyed to CP last week with by brothers. They rode MF last year, I didn't, and so they wanted me to ride it. Up to the point of riding, I would give them a hard time, joking that the ride was all "hype". My first ride was at 10:15am, second seat from the back. To be completely honest, the ride left me a little disappointed. It didn't seem very fast and I expected more. However, throughout the day, I returned to ride it 4 more times. And with each subsequent ride, the ride seemed to get better. The last two rides were in 1.1 and 1.2. And they were the best rides I have had on any roller coaster, and I am an enthusiast. When I was a child, I used to judge every coaster by the airtime. A ride like the Gemini at CP was great for me. But as I continue to ride, my criteria for a great coaster has changed or developed. I no longer consider airtime to be the overwhelming factor of a ride. In fact, I prefer speed and positive g's to airtime. And speed you experience on MF in the seat 1.1 or 1.2 going 92-95 mph is more exhilirating to me at least, than anything else. When you do ride it, ride it more than just once, and try various seats as well. But I would try 1.2 first. There will be no wait for that line.
Millennium is my all-time favorite coaster. If you like drops and speed, this is your coaster. I find a lot of the people that didn't like it like the inversions more than the drops and speed. Anyway, no matter what, just ride it. Trust me, your answer will be solved.

I don't know about y'all, but I got air on 3 hills! I thought this was the enthusiast holy grail. And on top of that, you are getting air really really fast and really really high up. Sorry Jeff, I have to disagree with you. Besides, I'd call the Beast an enthusiasts ride. No air there!

me too! im from az, and i drove for four days to ride millennium force, and i rode it 5 times, but ride it last, you dont want to be spoiled and say, "mantis is only 150ft high? humph what a midget!" i rode it last, but yeah, the coolest part is that the line is right next to the unloading station, so you can clearly see the peeps smile laugh and and say stuff like "yeah, the best coaster in the world!" and not to mention the loudest screams youve ever heard when the ride op says "welcome back yellow train how was you ride?? AAAAAAHHHH!!" *sigh* memories.
