Is Millennium Force worth it.

I am going to Cedar Point very soon and would just like to know if the Force is all hype or is really that great.
Don't go in thinking "I'm about to ride the world's greatest rollercoaster!" or anything like that. Just go in with a clear mind, thinking, "Hey! I'm riding a coaster! Word up!"

If you go in looking for something to absolutely blow you away, there's a chance you'll be let down. And that's not fun. So just ride and have fun! That's the idea, isn't it?

I was very skepical when I first went to Cedar Point in the year 2000. I thought to myself, pff Magnum'll be better. The coaster is probably overrated. After all, I had experienced overrated coasters in the past. Raptor, I find is one of the most overrated coasters out there. As I latched down the lapbar and started the accent, I started to get a sense of WOW. The drop just confirmed itself as the best coaster I had ever experienced. The drop alone did this. The rest of the ride simply blew me away even more. I have never seen a person get off millenium force without being utterly blown away. Everyone cheers once back in the station.

just look at everyone in this picture:

Look at the people in the picture experiencing this giga-coaster.

If I had to choose one coaster to ride for the rest of my life, this would be it.
It's a wonder of the world, and yes, the coaster does live up to the hype.

At the turn of the millennium, there were signs...;)

What kind of question is that. I went to CP in 2000 and traveled from Colorado just to ride Millennium Force. I watched construction since September 1999.

Right on! But, I live in Sandusky, two munutes away from the point. So some waits are not worth it for me. But, if your a first timer it's worth it! First time I rode it I waited four hours. But, well worth it. Of course that was two train operation.

That is a question that he asked. Thats what kind of question. I myself wonder if when I goto CP which will be better, MF or Maggie. I like rough coasters, and I like hills, but there are so many people who say MF is better. Then again, I also come across people who think MF is a dud that doesn't do anything after the first drop. He is just asking what people's opinions are, nothing more.

Yes it's worth it! I'm going on Friday 8/10/01 but with the accident that just happened at six flags the coaster might not be running they were mfg by the same company and sometimes they closem down!
I had built up the hype so much that my first ride, while absolutely excellent, was a tiny letdown. My second ride, which was in the second row, was the single most amazing coaster ride I've ever had. I love MF.

Why dont you just go and ride it for yourself. We can only give you opinions. If some of us said it sucked, would you NOT ride it?

*Wait a minute, Millennium Force is in your track record?

"who needs drugs when you have coasters...they're like a natural high"
I say when you are riding, don’t think about the hype or what other people have said. Just sit back and enjoy they only 300 foot coaster on this continent.
If everyone on this board said the ride sucked, would you not ride it? Of course not - so have fun!

Ride it! Yes the wait is a little long (and may well be even longer after S:ROS), but when will you go to another park that has such a behemoth. Second row is the best as I hate long waits for the front row, and the view is virtually unobstructed thanks to the "stadium-seating". I personally like the layout of S:ROS better (I've only been on the one at SFA). There were more airtime moments and nice powerful high-G helices, but MF's speed and height are unmatched - even by Goliath.

It depends on how far away you are.

I agree with coo man chu. Everytime people get off of it, they are just hysterical... slapping high-five's, taking breaths of relief, smiling. It's a great ride. The lift hill is just incredible. The drop feels even steeper than 80 degrees. The ride glides like ice, supplies some excellent airtime on three of the hills, and the speed is just intense! You may like Magnum better, but how anyone could be disappointed with MF is beyond me.
I traveled 3000+ miles just to ride the Force. Does that answer your question?
I drove there from CT in May and ended up being very disappointed, not by the coaster though. I went on a Friday and the park was packed. I only got to ride it once (2 hr. wait). So in that sense, I was disappointed. I drove 9 hours to ride it once. I think it is slightly overrated only because those Ohio folks overblow it. It is an awesome ride and there is nothing else like it (easily accessible to Americans). I personally would rather ride Nitro though.

I flew out from CA last week. I rode all of CPs other coasters before getting in line for MF. What a ride! I'll be writing a trip report in the next couple days.

Yeeee Haaawwww!
As soon as you get on the causeway and see how big it is (and it is sooo much different in person) you'll want to ride it!! It can be seen sticking up from everywhere in the park.

If you wanna dis me, then go knit a seater... or somethin' like that...
This is the worst coaster you'll ever ride;). Seriously this is the best coaster at the Point. Even though it's Number 2 on my Top 10 list it's still an awesome coaster. The best part is not being able to see the first drop when your at the top of the lifthill.
