State issues shutdown order for Carowinds' Fury 325 due to foundation issue

Carowinds’ most popular roller coaster Fury 325 remains closed. State officials say it will not reopen until their own re-inspection shows that the ride can operate safely. The ride has been closed since July 7 after a routine maintenance inspection by Carowinds workers found an issue with a ride foundation.

I'd argue that Fury is not the only reason to visit that park, but I'd be extremely disappointed if it weren't open when I visit. It is one of the greatest coasters ever built at a park that is very sterile and samey of all the other Cedar Fair legacy parks.

Crews were seen loading a crate of Magnum rumors onto a truck in Sandusky, Ohio.

Posts on X show it test running today (7/20/2025).

I mean it was already shut down, but this gives some government beaurocrat an opportunity to get his mug on TV to pretend he's doing something to save people from the evil amusement industry.

I don't know. If I want to make reinforcements to the foundation of my house, the permit requires a final inspection to make sure that the contractor did the job properly. This is probably more important to get right.
