From the press release:

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: FUN) today announced a new strategic partnership with NFL legend and three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, under which he will serve as a brand ambassador for North America’s largest regional amusement park operator.

The partnership unites one of the NFL’s most dynamic and influential personalities with Six Flags’ mission to provide its guests with the best in thrills and family entertainment. Over the course of 2026, Kelce will partner with Six Flags to provide marketing support to the Company’s portfolio of parks, including supplying digital content across various social media platforms. Six Flags also has the right to utilize Kelce’s name, image and likeness across a variety of approved channels, including broadcast media, streaming platforms, and in-park marketing outlets.

“Travis Kelce has been a lifelong fan of Six Flags, having grown up going to some of our most iconic parks with family and friends, so he is a natural ambassador to represent the Six Flags brand across North America,” said John Reilly, president and chief executive officer. “His fun-loving personality, commitment to excellence and passion for the game have contributed to three Super Bowl titles on the field, and we’re confident they will score big with our guests as well.”

"Six Flags parks were a hallmark of my childhood and the scene of some of my most fun and cherished memories, and I’m excited to team up with the company as it enters its next chapter," said Kelce. "The Six Flags team is creating even more rides and attractions as it takes guest engagement to a new level. I look forward to helping them continue to build excitement for their unrivaled portfolio of parks and introduce a new generation of fans to unforgettable experiences.”

Financial terms of the partnership arrangement were not disclosed.

This partnership with Kelce marks one of many actions Six Flags is taking as it continues to invest in world-class thrill rides, attractions and other family-friendly entertainment assets across its portfolio of parks.

But what will his impact on operations be? 🙂

Given his connection to KC I imagine he’ll be visiting WOF a bit this year, oh wait….

2026 Trips: Universal Orlando, Dollywood, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World San Antonio, Sea World Orlando, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Walt Disney World, Silver Dollar City

If they had needed an ambassador they would have built one by now…. Oh wait

Touchdown:

My first thought ... maybe he can also share memories of growing up in Cleveland and going to Geauga Lake.

He wore a Geauga Lake t-shirt on his podcast last year.

If you watched the New Heights podcast episode this week, Travis is good at making goofy faces! I pray he does it in a Six Flags commercial, lol.

Don’t be surprised to see parks host a “Kelce Jam” event with music/DJ’s, cool cars, football, etc. as a way for him to expand his brand building. 😉

I wish the couple well, but there is a risk here. If Travis and Taylor break up, I doubt it will hurt the NFL. If they break up, and it is his fault, you do have to wonder how that might impact Six Flags.

"You can dream, create, design, and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality." -Walt Disney

Sure, but at least from where I am sitting, it's not a bad bet.

Any relationship can go south for a variety of reasons. Risk you take in entering into one. Calculated decision that the risk is worth benefits it will bring. Knowing that if it goes south, someone will then be able to look back and say "See, I told you so."

The reason I think it is not a bad bet: This relationship is north of 2 1/2 years at this point. If you think roller coaster enthusiasts pick things apart, just wait until you meet Swifties. Pretty much everything that man has said or done for two years has been obsessively pored over, and he is more or less universally viewed as being supportive and a good partner. For example, this piece in USA Today from last summer.

That doesn't mean it can't go sideways. It absolutely can. But it seems like a decent bet---especially if it is only for the next several years. And I suspect that is likely. His star is likely to dim some once he's no longer actively playing, and I suspect retirement is not too far in the future.

Given the company's financial straits, this endorsement deal has to be a pretty major expense. I hope it works out for them.

You guys are completely discounting the fact that he was a pretty popular athlete on his own before that relationship.

He's part of an investment group, and it would not surprise me if his "investment" was mostly being brand ambassador. If this costs anything, it's in the form of equity, which is dirt cheap for Six Flags right now.

Travis is doing what he can to build a brand that extends beyond football. Not easy to do in terms of remaining in the spotlight after pro career ends.

Travis and Taylor aren't what I would view as the classic support your partner as an artist/athlete situation. He isn't accompanying her to repeated open mike nights at dive bars in small towns hoping to be discovered. Or staying in flea bag motels as an opening act for a band only known by their family. And she had to suffer through watching Travis play in the Super Bowl in a luxury suite. At least Chloe Kim has to watch the Browns to support Myles. LOL

Ultimately, I think Travis and Taylor have both played everything very well. Pun intended.

Yeah, but "pretty popular athlete" and "engaged to arguably the world's most popular pop star" are qualitatively different things.

I want a commercial where Travis dances to a Taylor Swift cover of the Vengabus song.

And his pretty popular status as an athlete was probably more than enough for this role with Six Flags.
