First Unread link not working - Safari/iOS 26

I updated my iPhone 16 to iOS 26.0.1 a few days ago and since noticed when I select the icon to the left of a thread title to go to the first unread post in that thread, it instead takes me to the top of the page the first unread post is on. I don’t exactly remember if it started doing this right after the update, a little while after the update, or was happening prior, but it started recently enough that the iOS update seems to be the most likely cause.

It's probably not your phone (though I've had to compensate for Apple's non-standards before), it's the stupid ads. They just keep getting ****tier and keep paying less. This site is already half paid for by the Jeff Putz Endowment Fund For The Arts. 😡

Seems to work in Chrome, so yeah, I think you’re right. But would that pertain to me since I pay for club membership?

No, the ad code is entirely not present in that case. I tried it on my iPad, but it hasn't updated yet (and it's 4 years old... will it be at all?). Is it landing on the right page of posts (only happens when it isn't the first page), or does it not land at all? If you click on the little chain link icon on this post, does the screen land on this post?

For me the (iPhone iOS26.0.1) it shows 9 unread, but when I click on it the only thigh I get is a nearly blank screen with only the “Mark all Read” button (no list of topics that might be unread)

WTF? How broken could it be?

Nope, it takes me to the top of the page.

Also, I just discovered quoting isn’t working. I highlight the text I want to quote and tap the “quote” icon, and it just unhighlights the text. (The quote above I added manually.)

Ugh, that's the thing that I had to code specially for Safari in the first place.

Well, until they update my iPad, I can't even test it myself. I know this is gonna sound dumb, but can you try clearing the cache? No idea where to do that.

Done, and didn’t work. I may start using Chrome again, not sure why I stopped.

That may not help... in the US, Chrome on iOS is actually Safari in a wrapper. In the EU, Chrome is Chrome, because of the anti-trust stuff.

Actually, everything works as it should in Chrome.
