SFOT New Dive Coaster Could Be World's First Giga Dive!

I was lucky enough to visit that factory for GateKeeper, and the scope is insane. The building just goes on forever. Those plasma cutters are nuts.

Here's an interesting behind the scenes video of construction progress on the new Giga-Dive.

LULZ, dude thinks they're gonna run out of room.

I really like the idea of this ride. I'm not jaded enough to dislike a dive coaster, and it's super cool that they're going bigger.

Says they're going to run out of room and then immediately shows the mostly empty field where the track is being stored.

Interesting? Give credit where credit's due, man...that was riveting.

This is why I just don't understand how people can spend so much time on YouTube. What a completely worthless video. Some track in a field described in detail by the teen from The Simpsons.

And this is the 12th update in a series?!? What were the previous updates, when workers brought shovels to the scene?

YouTube. Where anyone can be a star!

There is fantastic, high production value stuff on YouTube, especially science and maker stuff. But in these circles, there are sites that post an update when a bush is removed behind a restroom.

“Pieces of track just laying in a field…..so yea….”

Well, since SFOT is my home park I'm obviously excited about the new coaster coming in. It looks to me like vertical construction could begin any day now. My plan is to post updates on the construction progress every now and then, and hopefully a review once the ride is completed and open to the public.

Looks like the reveal date has been announced!

So, who's looking forward to Thursday's big reveal. I will be there at the Southern Palace at 6:30pm on Thursday for the official POV reveal. Feeling really excited about this major new coaster coming in.

Today is The Day!!

Im in!

The size of that Immelmann is insane!!

Gotta give praise when due, THIS is a Six Flags rollercoaster!

Great job to everyone involved with the design and planning, it certainly is something I think diehard coaster fans will be willing to travel and experience. In my youth I would travel to various SF parks like Great America, Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, etc. any time they introduced a ride on this scale so hopefully between this design and the season passes making all parks accessible we will so a turn of fortunes in the next year. I just hope corporate will remember that with the summer heat and sun to not forget focusing on comfort with more seating and shade around the parks next year.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Andy, with that logic, Magnum wasn't the first hyper coaster. :(

Magnum's 3rd hill is the best airtime hill out of all the coasters in the world!

285' drop at 95° is nothing to sneeze at when you consider that Yukon has a 245' drop at 90°. Having said that, easily the most incredible aspect of this ride will be that 218' Immelmann followed by the 179' vertical loop. Both of those look insane!
