I have not ridden it myself yet (will later this year), but the Steel Eel at SWoT seems to get good reviews on most sites I view. The interesting thing is that almost every site I have viewed classifies this as a hypercoaster, although it is well below 200 ft. Which brings me to my question. Is it necessary for a coaster to have a 200 ft. drop to be considered a hypercoaster, or can the term be used more subjectively to describe a non-looping coaster that has several large drops and produces a lot of airtime? If it feels as good as a hyper, but falls short of 200 ft., is it a hyper?
