i2STAR (Interactive and Intelligent Simulators, Thrills, Attractions, and Rides, LLC) and Six Flags Great Adventure announced today plans to introduce "Alcatraz, The Ride," Alien Invasion – an advanced interactive simulator ride. The attraction will premier at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson New Jersey in the Fall of 2001 and will have it’s grand opening at the beginning of the 2002 season.
"Alcatraz, The Ride" places the rider in the middle of the action and excitement, on a thrilling mission to save the Bay Area from an alien invasion. This one-of-a-kind simulator uses advanced technology to provide a uniquely interactive experience that allows riders to actually control the action, rather than experience it passively. Utilizing advanced digital imaging systems, the ride provides the most realistic visuals ever seen in consumer simulation.
i2STAR develops and manufactures advanced technology simulators for both the military and theme park markets. The company combines an advanced display system (with a 180 degree field of view), six degree motion platform, 3-D sound and interactive capabilities to give riders full control over their experience. And i2STAR is able to connect multiple simulators across both local and wide area networks, to provide the most unique simulation experience in the world.
i2STAR's founders have over 20 years experience in military simulation, software development, computer integration and intellectual property. The company received the Best Exhibit award at IAAPA 2000 where "Alcatraz, the Ride" received an overwhelming response by the hundreds of riders who were lucky enough to experience the attraction during the four-day show.
