Zipper flat ride at Amusement parks

Greg - Love Skydivers! They are another form of insanity all to themselves.

The one ride I'll *never* forget was at Lakemont with Dave "Flare" Fraser last year. He had control of the wheel and from the moment we were in the car to the moment the ride was over he spun the thing so fast I had no idea which way was up. I was laughing so uncontrollably I was crying and nearly wet myself ;) In fact the only person laughing harder than me was Jim "jimvid" McDonnell, who was on the ground witnessing it all.

I've also had memorable rides with Bassistist but the one with Flare takes the cake.

Moosh - would do it again in a heartbeat.

Chuck - he meant the Zipper at LL is gone, not the park itself.

Matt - The Zipper can't be loaded with the arm in a horizontal position because it's too high off the ground. You'd need to hydraulically raise and lower the arm. Cars are loaded two at a time with the arm vertical.

Bass - all that just adds to the fright factor.

Mike, I totally agree.

The Zipper is *still* the only ride that gives me butterflies before I board. I cannot explain it, but nothing scares/delights me as much as this ride. It is the one ride that makes me scream like a big girl! It's just sick. Do I still ride it every time I see one? You bet!

Warning - *remove* all pocket contents and leave them with a non-rider. I spent one entire trip on the "Zipper" with my left foot planted firmly against my car keys as they threatened to fly out the bottom of the door.

Moosh,

Hitting the proverbial "edge" is perhaps the scariest ride sensation ever, although our ride on "Katanga" with the one forward butt out of seat fall was pretty darn close :) Another "Zipper" favorite moment is when the boom is horizontal, and your car hangs upside-down the whole trip accross. Not as scary, but quite fun none-the-less.

Hey Jeff!

Oh yeah, our Katanga ride was insane, too! I'll never forget that for sure. And you're right, staying upside-down while the boom revolves around *you* is pretty cool, too.

I think the one thing that got me about my first Zipper ride was the claustrophobia, especially at night. You really can't see much out of the "cage". I agree about securing all objects. At the end of the ride the operator asked "Did anyone lose their keys?". Sure enough they were mine.
