Zipper flat ride at Amusement parks

What parks have this ride? It seems like the Zipper only shows up at carnivals. Why don't parks like Cedar Point and PKI have one. After all, isn't this the best carnival ride anywhere?

Also, is it possible to pass out on this ride if too many tight revolutions are made consecutively? I once rode with someone and we rocked the car so much we ended up doing about 15 revolutions consecutively. We did so many spins I started to freak out a little thinking the car would never stop spinning. Of course, I stopped trying to rock the car after about 10 revolutions.

It just seems like it's posible to get on such a roll that you could end up blacking out from all the tight spins.

Maybe a lot of major parks don't have them for the reason you described. The only one I know of is at Lesourdsville Lake next to Serpent. I can't even see these operating at a park like PKI or CP. They don't seem like their style for some reason.

I think the main complaint with the Zipper is capacity... It's an amazing ride, but if it can't load fast enough, it isn't a viable option for a park.
it loads very slow and it can be painful. Also, it looks cheap and might scare people off. It is a fun ride, but it's hard to flip.

LeSourdville Lakes is now gone.

Capacity is the issue, thats why most parks dont have one. Notice on how many Ferris Wheels have either disappeared or have given way to multi-load giant Wheels? Its the same issue.

haven't enough people ridden MJ's zipper?

As for the ride itself, it looks very neat. its a shame too see it lost at LL. Maybe someone like Zamperla or chance could make an update, that would be interesting...

I think the reason we don't see Zippers at amusement parks is simply because they are *ugly* rides. Don't get me wrong, I think they're the best of the older flat rides, but they look very much like neighborhood carnival material. The flat rides you see at parks (usually) look very nice, and keep the mechanical parts hidden.

Tell me the Zipper is the best flat out there after you've ridden a Mondial Topscan. ;)

It is all the rage on a 'carnival' ride, which is what parks try to avaoid. They are trailer mount, and the exposed tires do not help the lack of 'attraction'.

They are also subject to intense inspection in several states, which is why they are not all over. Chance desigend a larger modern version a few years ago, but, well, a Zipper is a Zipper. A 'Fair' ride. Litterally.

We all know the Dippin' Dots guy gives false park information, then why not try the lemon chill guy???
The Zipper I rode was just... boring. All it seemed to do was keep on spinning... and spinning....and spinning for what seemed like an eternity.

There is a Zipper at Coney Island, and they allow single riders!

The thing I like about the flyers, the Zipper, and Chaos is that they all have a high degree of *rider-control*...YOU get to select the intensity of your own "program" to a considerable degree....I like that, a LOT...:)

So Gator...you're one of those who get your Zipper car flipping while others are being loaded, eh?

Gator - Don't ask me why but the first thing that came into mind after reading your post was Mr. Miyogi, from Karate Kid, saying, "Up.....down.....up.....down....."

Moosh - thinks Gator would be a good flatride partner ;)

Flat rides do absolutely nothing for me. When I go to a park, I rarely ever come close to riding a flat. Except the Zipper. Nothing compares to its insanity.

The only permanent installations I've seen (other than at travelling fairs) are at Trimper's in Ocean City, MD (you can see the top of it right behind the Toboggan), and Coney Island.
