Your stats for the 2003 season

Ok we are now officially in the "off season" in Missouri as today (12/28) is the last operating day for SDC and that means that if we want to go ride a coaster we will have to settle for some rollerskates that take residence in a few malls.

Out of curiosity, how did you fair in the 2003 season?

I ended up riding 138 different coasters and visited 27 different parks (of which 17 were "new" to me parks).

Old Town, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Sea World Orlando, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Orlando, Six Flags over Georgia, Worlds of Fun, Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, Six Flags St. Louis, Adventureland (Iowa), Joyland (Wichita), Holiday World, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Paramount's Kings Island, Cedar Point, Wyandot Lake, Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, Waldameer Park, Martin's Fantasy Island, Six Flags Darien Lake, Michigan's Adventure, Valleyfair!, Camp Snoopy (MOA).

I have visited 19 different parks and ridden 75 coasters in my life time. And I consider myself an enthusiast. You must be some sort of freak.

Kevin Stone NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulator http://www.nolimitscoaster.de
I also consider myself but I could only afford to visit one park and ride seven coasters. I feel like a loser.

I want to live where it's all the same. I want to live where it's all just like today. I want to live where it's always Saturday.
I didn't do too much in terms of variety. I only visited three parks (Cedar Point, MB Pavilion, and Family Kingdom in MB), but I hit CP around 30 times so I got my share of riding in. Next season I'm planning on faring better though, planning 10-15 parks.

Yeah I spent a grand total of about $3500, visiting all of these parks in 2003, at various times Anf I had been to some before:
Knott's Berry Farm, SFMM, Vegas, Cliff's*, Cedar Point*, SFWOA*, SDC *, Celebration City*, SFSL, HW, IB, Kennywood, MIA*, SFGAm*, SFKK. My official coaster count is now 106, 57 of them were gained after May 31. It Best coaster year so far, hopefully next summer will be better.
I had a decent cheap year, only around 28 coasters, 31 if you count kiddy coasters and Devils Den @ CLP, 4 parks, CP (over 22 trips), CLP (around 20 plus trips), KW (only 2), SFWOA (once and that was enough). So I didn't hit huge numbers but with in that 28 are some really good if not some of the best coasters out there. but I'm not a needy person I could have a great year just riding BS @ CLP.
This year was a normal year for me, I rode a total of 67 coasters at 8 different parks. I visited Paramount's Kings Dominion, Six Flags America, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Lakemont Park, Kennywood, Cedar Point, Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, and Paramount's Kings Island. I had multiple trips to CP, SFWoA, and Kennywood and the rest of the parks only one trip. Well, BGW, PKD, and SFA were for CoasterCon so I was there for a full week but that was the only trip I made to those parks.

Why is it that if something says "do not eat" on the packaging it becomes extra tempting to eat?
Five visits to three parks with one new coaster ridden. Being an "enthusiast" means less and less to me the older I get...

I visited Holiday World for the first time (definitely not my last) and therefore added The Raven and Legend to my track record.

Of course I also rode Dragster.

But the best part about the season was getting to meet up with old and new friends at Holiday World, PKI, Cedar Point and Michigan's Adventure.

I would say the two best trips was the day spent with Nasai and Peabody at CP, and attending Beastbuzz with TheRealCP who has not only become my coaster buddy, but a real friend as well.

That's what it's all about. Not the number of parks and coasters, but the wonderful people I've met.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

I went to 10 parks. 3 New ones which were Six Flags Darien Lake, Kennywood, and Paramount Kings Domion.

Other parks included Dorney,Hershey,SFGADV,SFA,BGW,SFWOA, CP.

I have a trip for Six Flags New England and Great Escape next season and I might even try for Six Flags Atlanta.

Thanks,
DMC

I rode 45 coasters this year, 35 of them new.

I went to 10 parks this year-

CP, SFNO, SFWOA, SFGAM, PKI, WDMK, WDE, WDAK, MGM, IOA

4 of them were new to me-

CP, SFGAM, SFWOA, and PKI.

We did not get to ride 4 of CP's coasters. 2 of SFGAM's coasters V2 was shut down, 7 of SFWOA's coasters, and 7 of PKI's coasters. I know that is a lot missed, but we did not want to ride kiddie coasters, actually my Dad didn't, and we only had an hour and a half at SFWOA. *** Edited 12/28/2003 10:05:32 PM UTC by TTDragster14***

New to me coasters in 2003: 45 to bring me to a total of 500.

Wow. the only new park I managed to get to was Holiday World for SRM, and I've got ten people wanting to go this year. Other than that, I added TTD to my list of rides, and all the coasters at Holiday World.
Sheesh... well, being that I was unemployed for most of the year... I can only list:

Enchanted Parks - Wild Thing, Klondike Gold Rusher, Timberhawk

Knott's Berry Farm - Montezooma, Jaguar, Xcellerator

SFMM - X, Batman, Riddler's, Deja Vu, Psyclone, Collosus, Scream, Revolution, Ninja, Gold Rusher, Superman

Puyallap Fair - Coaster Thrill Ride

Seattle Center - Windstorm

Buffalo Bill's - Desparado (Outside temp 101 degrees)

ThrillVilleUSA - Ripper

Six Flags over Texas - Titan (On January 1st :-)

hmm... 22 coasters... 2 that were new to me (Xcell and Deja) Not too bad for someone with very little travel resources :-)

OK, all you who missed catching me... SCREAM was of course ALSO a new ride for me this year... duh. :-) *** Edited 12/30/2003 7:03:26 AM UTC by escher26***

Well, I attended my first SRM, visited Mia, Coney Island Cinci, Great America, and IB for the first times ever, and enjoyed many shameless, blissfull thrills on my two fave newbies: Delirium & Dragster. ;-)

I also took the DDR thing seriously this year. :-D
