Hmm....
Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Park Name: Port Adventure (it's used, but I like it)
This park would be very well themed to an old sea village, complete with a proper balance of traditional theming and modern thrills. The layout would circle a huge, gorgeous lake.
The entrance would feature a the standards that Moosh previously posted, as well as a beautiful sea-themed carousel right beside the lake. This would be surrounded by elegant gardens, fountains, and trees. Many pictures would be taken when patrons first enter.
Theme Section One: Gulfman Village- This section would be for the older adults interested in "granny shopping," parents searching for the perfect souvenir, and young ones seeking fun. There would be many old funky shops, a seaside "bar" complete with a fisherman show and a family-friendly atmosphere, a twin set of S&S shot'n'drop towers (Sea Foam Fall), and 2-3 kiddie attractions. Main Attraction: Wave Swinger- a well-themed Setpoint swing thing. More attractions to be added later on.
Theme Section Two: Storms of Time Harbor- This section would feature an old boardwalk-style theme, but with a mysterious twist. There would be a giant frisbee and a giant top spin on either end of the section's Main Attraction- Behemoth, a Gravity Group out-and-back twister. Later a gigantic ferris wheel would be added. More attractions to be added later on.
Theme Section Three: Porte Thrille- This section would be complete with a humongous walk-through sunken ship, complete with restaurants, shops, fun houses, and Yo-Yo swings on top. Main Attraction: Silverback, an Intamin mega-looper. Expansions later.
That's about it!
EDIT: Ha! I didn't think anyone would catch that. For "late comers", it has been changed.

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK
I forgot about Detroit as a location. In my coaster world, I see Detroit as a void of a bunch of buildings, many empty and falling apart.
This park would have the Gardens name in it. Kings Gardens? Motor City Gardens? Busch Gardens Great Lakes?
I would throw in the thrills of drop towers, mega-loopers, hypers, and large flats, with the fun of monorails, observation towers, botanical areas, family racing coasters, and wet rides. I would make it big enough to want to spend an entire day there, but not make it like someplace you have plan and spend for like a mega-themer.
Areas:
(something)centennial Commons: This would be the main entry of the park, and would serve as the park's gateway and mall. Main attraction would be a 500' observation tower.
Midway Plaza: Would feature a classic wood coaster, as well as some thrilling flat rides. Traditional in style.
Metropolis: A contemporary area featuring large thrills like a B&M floorless or inverted. Maybe a drop ride too.
Riverfront: A port-themed area. Built along a man-made lake, would feature a wood terrain coaster, water rides, and maybe an Intamin hyper.
However, I have other ideas. Maybe eventually I'll come up with an ideal park.
