You know you like coasters too much when...

I like the zipper pocket shorts for coaster riding. I don't trust the velcro or buttons especially on rides like a B&M flyer or Hydra where you are falling out of the seat into the restraint during the jojo roll. Unfortunately, zipper pocket shorts seem really difficult to find. Some years Old Navy carries them and I save them just for parks.

When you still obsess about the exact geometry of an Anton loop (including the lateral curve entering and exiting).

All you people with your weak safety-pin solutions. I have OTSR's over my pockets.

I found some at Kohl's last spring, and they surprisingly had them in my size. I stocked up with 4 pairs, since I didn't know if I'd ever find them again.

I am guilty of collecting coaster/park postcards.

I collect park maps...I have some coaster books.

My biggest thing I will admit...I keep a coaster notebook for every park season. Not only to keep track of my coaster count, but list the rides I went on and if anything exciting happened. Also a big help when making out Trip Reports on here.

Sky's the limit.

I keep a journal with me in general because I like to write (yes, by hand and not on a computer), but I usually will take said journal with me and write notes and observations about my day as well. Sometimes if I have a few days at a park, I will even go write the entire trip report in my hotel room.

I forgot about keeping count of ride totals. After every trip to Great Adventure and Dorney (since those are the only 2 parks I get to more than once each season), I keep track of how many times I rode each coaster that day and add the number to a yearly total and overall total so I can figure out when I get to certain milestones like a 100th or 200th ride on a coaster.

I always forget about doing that, and it is something I've always meant to do.

I don't go that far. The only time I brought one of those pocket-sized notebooks to a park, it fell out of my pocket..that was on Millennium Force. I keep track in my head of how many times I ride a coaster on a given day, but not for a lifetime or even a season. For example, I've been on Toro at least 6-700 times, but there's no documentation/backup.

I'd be surprised if there's a single coaster I've ridden even 40 times in my lifetime. Maybe one or two. I'd roughly estimate that 95% of all the ones I've ridden I've only taken one or two laps.

To Vater's point: I'd bet that, aside from El Toro, the only coaster(s) I've ridden more than 100 times are probably Runaway Train and Nitro at GAdv..maybe Medusa/Bizarro is up there too.

I've had maybe 50 laps on The Beast... Maybe. I don't think I've rode anything 100 times either. I don't keep track of that stuff.

I've been thinking the same thing, but didn't want to turn it into a "I'm less of an enthusiast" pissing match. But since you started...

I'm in the same boat. If I had 30 or 40 laps on any single coaster, it'd probably be Talon. After that maybe 20-ish on a couple of Dorney's other coasters. A vast majority of my track record is 'one and done' with a bit of twosies and theesies mixed in.

Hell, I go to parks and don't even ride all of the coasters.

More power to you guys who put in that much time on certain rides...and even more to those who keep track. I think just keeping a simple record of what I've ridden is more than enough enthusiast book keeping for me.

Other than the ones I get paid to ride, I doubt I've been on anything more than about 20 or maybe 30 times.

Hi

Well, Ive never kept count but I am absolutely certain that Ive been on these coasters at least 50 times:

- Lockness Monster

- Magnum XL 200 (in fact Im certain this ride count is over 150 and probably close to 200)

- Millennium Force

- Big Bad Wolf (RIP my friend)

- The Mummy FL

Also, Im probably over 50 rides on these coasters too:

- Big Thunder Mountain FL

- Yankee Cannonball

- Raptor

- The Beast

- The Pepsi Ripsaw

But then again, I dont just power ride coasters, here are some other rides I know Im over 50:

- The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman

- Splash Mountain FL

- Tower of Terror FL

- Haunted Mansion FL

- MIB

- Great Gobbler Getaway

- The Adventure River @ Noah's Ark

There are a whole lot of factors that play into why these rides are up here, but for the most part (except the Universal and Disney rides, Ive had Express Pass nearly every time Ive been and am a Fastpass super user) these rides are at parks Ive visited a lot, (some have been home parks) are rides I love, and rides that typically have a short wait, especially at the end of the night.

Why Ive ridden Magnum so many times is because 2012 was the first time I did not visit Cedar Point since 1999 and when I go I always spend my last 1/2 hour power riding Magnum (average 3-4 rides) in addition to at least 2 laps during the day. 5 laps a visit x about 35 visits to that park is how I came to that number, and thats not including the coaster events Ive attended there.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

I know I've ridden Talon at least 100 times...I ride it at least twice every time I go to Dorney, and living so close, I probably go to Dorney close to 15 times a season...and my nephew usually wants to ride 8-10 times...I kinda wish I knew how many times I've actually ridden that thing.

Yeah, Bunky, you just reminded me I'm probably well over 200 on Steel Force...139 just at Coasting For Kids the last two years, plus a 22-ride marathon about 6-7 years ago. Talon is probably just bubbling around the 100 -125 mark as well.

I'm sure I have more than a hundred laps on a one or two rides (probably Nitro, V2 SFDK) and well over fifty on a couple more (Titan, Bizarro SFNE). I stopped counting a laps a long time ago though. Most of the time I just count the number of coasters I've ridden.

I don't know about you guys, but I sure have taken a LOT of rides on Gemini over the years...

I've gotten several rides in coasters at ERT but I'm also not one to have ridden any coaster more than maybe twenty or thirty times.

But I could stay on my top five for hours if I was let to them by myself ;-)
