I'm not in any way going to make fun of any of you for being so passionate about coasters, but I will say that I am not like that at all. I mention it from time to time to various people if it comes up in conversation, but I tend to keep roller coasters away from my everyday life. I still visit CoasterBuzz almost everyday and keep up with any coaster-related news that interests me.
I have a few other fun hobbies that I really enjoy. I wear a lot of super hero and band t-shirts, instead of coaster shirts. I don't think that I currently own a coaster shirt that isn't packed away somewhere.
I like the front and back areas of a coaster train, but I am satisfied riding anywhere on the train.
When I go to parks, I normally like to take my time and soak up the environment, instead of getting as many rides as possible.
I have park maps and little park-related trinkets, but I keep then in a box under my bed. After the internet became popular, I didn't feel the need to hoard maps like I used to, because I can look at them anytime I want online.
Perhaps, like Gonch, I am an amusement park enthusiast, and not a full-fledged roller coaster enthusiast.

I am all things amusement park enthused as well, Travis, but I think some of that gives way to hitting as much as possible when I'm at a new place because I never know when I'll get there next. That being said, I love to just LOOK at parks when I'm driving near one. I used to summer every year at OCMD, and Tidal Wave was my first upside down coaster. I know I rode that thing close to 500 times. Now I won't even go on it at all, but I love just heading out to Trimpers and walking through the ride areas and down the Boardwalk to the other pier. I love the atmosphere of Boardwalk parks especially, but can go to Dorney and be quite happy chilling out in the area between Thunderhawk and Steel Force. I can spend days in a park where most people are done after one day...SeaWorld in Orlando is most special for me because of the polar bears and the sea lion/seal exhibit. While their coasters are fantastic, I have been there on a few different occasions where I did not care if I rode anything, as long as I got to see my favorite animals at the park. Except for our last trip, all trips to Orlando have closed with a lovely SeaWorld trip (our last trip ended at SeaWorld for parks, but it was a baaaad idea to do That particular park in that kind of heat...we lasted two hours and had to leave).
Coastering/amusement parking is not my only hobby, but I find that it takes up probably the most time and money out of everything else that I do. So I guess perhaps the topic should be "you know you like amusement parks too much when..." I think the lot of us got off topic and kind of turned this into a much different topic (myself included...squirrel!). Was meant to just be another fun one, like:
"You know you like coasters (amusement parks) too much when you address the ride attendant by his or her first name, and they are not wearing a name badge."
That kind of thing.

I have no problem with the 49ers. :) as long as it is not the Eagles or the Bills, fine by me. Cowboys are just my favorite.

Hey LostKause, if youre into super heros, do you ever visit an event called Comic Con in San Diego ?

I forgot about my checks and my El Toro wall clock. The checks are wood coasters, not the B&M design. However, of the four designs on the checks, I've never been able to identify three of them. They're not identified on the checks, and I don't recognize them as ones I've been on. The fourth is El Toro. I know that one reasonably well :)

And nearly every decent shot of El Toro is that same one by the fountain with Toro and Ka.

Yep, that's the one on the checks, clock, and comp wallpaper. It's just iconic.

You own a collection of shorts and one pair of pants with elastic waists and cargo pockets you specifically bought for theme park wear.
2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando
I work in a factory and occasionally have a complete stranger come up to me and say "so you're the one to talk to about rollercoasters/Cedar Point?" and start asking me questions.
Now, Famous Dave's has become as much of an obsession as well. We actually plan vacations to visit them. I think this year, I'm spending more time getting Famous Dave's credits than coaster credits. Something wrong there!
We all have weird habits. As long as they don't get us or loved ones in trouble, I say 'go for it'! :^)

Here I thought you were a coffin enthusiast...
Out of curiosity, are the Famous Daves significantly different, or are they mostly cloned restaurants scattered about the U.S.?
I can't believe my Famous Dave's isn't getting anything new this year, even though our deep frier ranked #2 on "Bob's internet deep frier poll" 4 years in a row. There must be some upper management conspiracy against us.

AND... you have extra large safety pins everywhere to make sure those pockets never open. Am I the only one who does that?
I was at Cedar Point in 2011 and I saw this young gentleman with a tattoo of the Cedar Point skyline on his chest. Now THAT is park dedication.
^^lol I used an extra large safety pin as a fail-safe on my swim trunks. I bought them online, and I discovered there was a single snap securing them after delivery.
Let's just say that the safety pin fail-safe saved me many times when waterfall jumping. Maybe we've been conditioned by coasters to always have a fail-safe. ;-)
^Good to know I'm not the only one :)
I also carry my park necessities (ID, pass, credit card, single car key and a little cash) in either a zip lock bag or a plastic pouch. Keeps stuff safe and dry! I upgraded to adding a lanyard through the zipper grip on this plastic pouch I have an tether it to my belt loop. Kinda like a wallet chain, but more practical for riding rides.
I normally use a "zippy" bag on water rides, but sadly I didn't when GayCoasterGuy was with me a Camden Park a few years ago, and my cheapo cell phone got wet on the log flume and quit working. I never used it anyways, so I just got me an iPod instead.
Although I didn't have a need for the safety pin he offered me because I had "snappy" pockets.

The point is that the safety pin is there in the event your snaps fail. Kinda like seatbelts on a coaster. Velcro, snaps and buttons fail MUCH more than restraint bars. Zippers are better, but the safety pin satisfies my OCD :)
Jeph - Some of their restaurants are clones. But many are different. They all have the same type of decor and atmosphere(except NYC, which sucked).
Coasterhound36 - I have seen others with coaster tats I have several. Didn't mention in my post. I seem to forget about them. I have Montu, Raptor, Nemesis, and Dueling Dragons on my chest. Then have Magnum, MF, and Mantis on arms. If it was me, I will take it your statement as a compliment. I'm not a young gentleman. I'm 42. :^)

I'm rooting for Baltimore in the Super Bowl, mainly because Flacco's from Jersey and there's no roller coaster I like called the "49er."
