X...the most anticipated coaster of all time?

I know there was a lot of buzz going on around GOLATH, Millenium Force, ect., but I havn't seen as much anticipation for anything like X so far. Is X the most anticipated coaster of all time?

Will 100 million people see it on TV this spring? I doubt it.

How would you guage how "anticipated" a coaster is? That seems like a very odd question.

Buuuuut, I'll throw my two cents in anyway. While I'm looking forward to X a LOT, I think I was more excited about Millennium Force or Raging Bull. Raging Bull because it was at my home park, Millennium Force because it's 310' tall. :)

Who cares? I hope it's not so I don't have to wait in 2 plus hour lines like I did for MF and Stealth. Most people still haven't heard of it yet. Let's keep that way, K? ;)

Perhaps to a hard core coaster enthusiast this could be considered one of the most exciting rollercoaster of all time. We really haven't heard too much from Arrow within the last decade.
It's exciting to see the comeback of a company.I always love underdog companies. It will be interesting to see how the company impacts the industry with post Ron Toomer and the NASA tecnologies.I would also love to see the concepts come to life such as: Virginia Reel, 64 super train, The 700ft fish hook coaster, Arrowbatic etc. But it's hard to say if this is the most highly anticipated coaster of all time. I remember being very excited about Gemini, Beast, Bat, Demon Drop, King Cobra, Magnum, Viper (M.M.)Batman, Superman The Escape, Stealth,Arrobatic, and X.
What's anticipated by some is not by others. I'm highly anticipating X because it's in my home state and because it looks to be one INSANE coaster. I highly anticipated Millenium Force, Goliath and Medusa West, and I'm highly anticipating all the new coasters for 2001. The one I'm anticipating the most? Deja Vu. More so than X. But to say that one coaster is the most anticipated is incorrect. Each coaster is anticipated by us enthusiasts. Some more than others, but not so much to where one is the most of all time. Just my opinion. Peace. :)

Medusa at Marine World: the best in the west!
Not. It may suck for all we know.

Oh my freekin' head!

If arrow pulls this off to perfection, it may be a #1 coaster. If not, It will be a shame. My few cents think it will be a hit/disappointment like SOB

I'm 2 for 2 so far!!!
More wishful thinking. The last thing any SFMM hater wants is for X to be as big as I think it's going to be. Come on, admit it, you hope the coaster fails.

I'll say this, judging from it's design it will liekly be a maintenance nightmare. By the way, the most anticipated coaster was.... The Corkskrew at Knott's. This made huge news being the first.

Come on Skyboss, we all know you hate SFMM, you are starting to sound like a broken record. (note- some of you are too young to remember records) If you hate Six Flags that much, simply do not patronize them.

Personally, I like to see SFMM in the spotlight. From what I hear, The Mountain will really shine in '01. X looks insane!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
I'm afraid X will make people vomit.
I can just see it now, RCT-like peeps walking around looking for benches saying, "I feel sick". LOL!

Not to me it could very well be like SOB, ya know everyone couldn't wait for it but when they rode it they hated it, or it could rule! One thing though MMountainFanatic, use the Spell check! You spelled GOLIATH w/o the "I" and Millennium with only 1 "n"!

"Right about now you are about to be possessed by the sounds of DJ MFORCE"
I showed many people in my school pictures of MF before it was built, and absolutely everyone of there reactions were,"Oh my God!" I think that MF was the most anticipated coaster. One thing that was smart with, was they advertised a wide area. I never saw any advertising for SOB and I live in NE Indiana.
Believe me, SFMM WILL market X into the ground, and that's a good thing for the park. More peeps means more butts in the seats, which in turn means more coasters and rides each year. I still don't agree that X is the most anticipated coaster of all time though. Maybe Revolution or Corkscrew like Skyboss mentioned. Something like that. I am also glad that SFMM will be in the spotlight now, more than ever. Peace. :)

Medusa at Marine World: the best in the west!

Were you guys even born when Corkscrew debuted? I don't EVER remember anything even close to Space Mountain at Disneyland. The construction was documented almost daily on most evening news stations. Oh man, the zoo Disneyland was when that thing opened. The question wasn't what was the most important or revolutionary, but what was the most anticipated, Space Mountain is your answer.

Well I remember when batman at six flags great america opened it was the top ride there, now it's the Raging Bull. Maybe next year it will be one of our next 2 coasters. :)

I think Millennium Force was the most highly anticipated coaster. "X" is cool but it won't beat the Force (as in anticipation).
