At American Coaster Networks they say it could be down the rest of the week possibly. Oh well, thought you guys might want to know.

I thought Intamin was a little better than this though. They're my fave coaster company and I just thought they'd be a little more reliable than to break down in the first week of operation to the gp.

This has nothing to do with how "good" Intamin are. You don't see B&M trying to build a coaster this advance. I think they have done a damn good job so far.

Don't panic: this seems to be the case with nearly every new ride this year, especially the prototypes. Even rides from "reliable" designers have had some trouble in their first weeks.

I'm sure all will be worked out within a couple of days. I have heard Xcel will be back for this weekend.

Kool, I hope it's up by the time we go to Knotts in July. I hope X is running too. Is it still testing? I'll be at Sfmm around late July too so I hope it's open by then. Oh well, sorry to get off topic.

Sounds like they just made an "opps" with the pulley for the launch mechanism if you read the blurb on it over at ACN. Just be patient for it to reopen. It is after all, the first one of its kind.

The ride has been down a matter of weeks and people act like its gone for ever. come on dont you remember superman. plus x has been seen testing seveal times last week

A million things could have gone wrong with the floorless, and of course the invert was nothing advanced either...

Yeah, I was at the park on Tuesday with the rest of the ACN staff. Those pictures were taken by I Burn Churro Carts and I, using his camera. He goes by "SFMM Insider" there. We were there at 8:30 and stood at the entrance until 10:00. They then put up a "Opens at noon" sign. We waited outside Xcelerator's entrance until noon. I finally was able to talk to an Intamin mech. who said it wouldn't be open. The pulley overshot and was taken out of the station by crane to throw backstage to be worked on.
