X nears completion while Windjammer nears destruction (updated)

X has only a few track pieces left to install before completion. All is not good for Deja Vu as the cable spool/motor has been removed from the second lift. The S&S attraction is almost complete as well. The ride vehicle has been assembled and was even on the ride site on Saturday.
Over at Knott's, work continues on tearing down Windjammer. Half of the ride has been removed.

They did the same thing (taking the motor and spool down) at SFGAm.
Perhaps after they got the cable up, they pull them off until they get the one at SFoG done and cleared testing?

The second Raven turn is very different from the first. You enter the element from the top rather then the bottom; and the coaster is on the outside of the track rather then the inside. These 2 elements are going to provide extremely different sensations -- it almost seems like they should have different names.

Since Im not from Cali., did they close Psyclone for the construction of DV or has it been open the whole time, or has it reopened yet? Just curious.
I'm glad to see that Windjammer monstrostity (sp?)

Wow, Now I see how you will turn on the Thrill Shot. The whole bar going across each side will rotate the seats. Whoa that looks freaky.

I thought that the track on the Thrill Shot would be the same as normal S&S rides. I guess not.
What happen to Windjammer? When did it close? I wonder if those trains will be up for auction? (Hope I win the lottery!):)

Actually, both motors were taken down. I saw it yesterday as I was on my lunch break. Psyclone closes everytime they work on Deja Vu. But since I am an employee I can to the site! I saw the entire queue, it goes behind Surfside Grill.

Windjammer closed in late 99 / early 2000. There were design flaws that casued trains to valley in a slight wind - ironic, huh? Knott's sued Togo and won. A coaster will replace Windjammer and open in Spring 2002.
The thrill shot has more in common with an ejector seat than the standard S&S towers as the ride vehicle will be attached via cables.
BTW...did you know you spelled "millennium" wrong in your screen name? It has 2 n's. Just thought you'd like to know.

I am considering a trip to the US just to ride this baby (Actually not just X, everything else as well!) That's how good it is.
Hey, do you guys think that if X is as good as it looks, will the lines be massive? Bad for us, good for the other rides - RR, Goliath etc.
