X nears completion while Windjammer nears destruction (updated)

Posted | Contributed by Karl DeAngelo

X has only a few track pieces left to install before completion. All is not good for Deja Vu as the cable spool/motor has been removed from the second lift. The S&S attraction is almost complete as well. The ride vehicle has been assembled and was even on the ride site on Saturday.

Over at Knott's, work continues on tearing down Windjammer. Half of the ride has been removed.

The pics of X don't do it any justice. I was at the park on friday and the ride is huge. It looks way cooler in person.
Is it me or does it seam like this ride is going to have some serious chooper efects between the supports and the trains.
Whoa, going into that second raven turn is gonna give your gut a massive twist! I can feel it just by looking at the pictures! Too bad I live in Pennsylvania...:(

I never thought about it before but X is a double-out and back hyper.

The reason Windjammer is being torn down was because it didn't perform to the parks' expectations. The ride could get stuck in as little as 5 mph gusts of wind! Guests got beat up by the ride, therefore popularity of the ride was lost.

They are taking down windjammer because ever since they built it in 1998 they have had nothing but trouble with it. Personally I liked the soap box derby ride that was there before windjammer a lot better.
Why did they take off the thing on Deja VU?

-------------
In my personal photo Im the one on the left.
Yeah the Soap Box Derby Racers kicked serious ***. It's WAY better than Windjammer. But back to X, I can't wait to ride this baby. The line itself will be *AWESEOME* going RIGHT UNDER Viper's Bating thing. And just inces from X before the lift. I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!

The bottom of the second Raven Turn looks like the train will touch the ground!

thats a raven turn,? I thought that was a strange looking diving Loop.
Originally I though that the second raven turn was going to be identical to the first, just a lot smaller. But the way it actually is, I see that it's going to do the job of a camel-back, a vertical drop, and going backwards: all in one small movement!

I was just there today. I saw the car for the s&s ride and the guy at the control booth was testing something. *** This post was edited by riddler#3 on 7/29/2001. ***

why are they taking tha motor off deja vu
Nobody knows at this time why the cable spool and motor was removed from the second vertical spike. And NO it did not snap.
Will Knotts Berry Farm Be Building Another Racing Coaster In Place Of WindJammer ? What types of problems did WindJammr have ? Soap Box Derby Racers Were the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's odd how they are taking down Windjammer. Some parts are just ripped and mangled, while other parts seem to be done very carefully... Also, Wipeout looks so funny sitting there all nice, new, and clean in the middle of all of Windjammer's mess.
