X Maintenance Schedule?

Tatsu is on my to do list as well. I'll have about 4 hours to spend at the park. Hopefuly, I'll be able to get at leat 1 ride on each. 2 each would be great.

So I guess the consensus is that X isn't guaranteed to be closed on a certain day per week, right? It COULD be closed, but it's not planned to be closed. I can live with that.

EDIT: I just called Six Flags and they said X was never closed one day per week for maintenance. LOL!! So, I guess I can go either day and have an equal chance of it running or not running. *** Edited 4/25/2007 10:18:57 PM UTC by halltd***

Sometimes X is closed due to high winds.

X no longer is closed for on a particular day as it did in the past (on Wednesdays).

The ride is known to be tempermental, but its reliability issues tend to be exaggerated a bit sometimes. It's not the most reliable coaster out there, but since enthusiasts tend to bring up the fact that it's closed more often than when it is open -- it leads to the assumption that it won't be open on a future visit to the park. It should be operating when you visit, halltd. From what I have heard, the new trains will not be delivered and put into operation until next season.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but X has been open 95% of the visits I've been to Magic Mountain, and I'm a local that frequents the park. However, I usually never go out of my way to ride it because I can't stand waiting in line for it.

I have been to magic mountain 4 times in the last year. 3 of the times it was closed when I went 4/9/07 it was open in the morning but closed later... 4.21.07 it was closed...

Sounds like it's still not up to snuff then if that was your experience. Hopefully the rumored new trains will help. Good luck, halltd!

I know somehow people here make sfmm the worst park there is(which it is not!) But X was running fine from february until last week. They had a problem, fixed it within days and it is running fine now.

End of story.

As if it's completely normal and not out of the ordinary at all to have to fix a coaster "in days"....and while I agree it's not an ordinary coaster, it's still a statement in itself that it's standard to expect an X repair in "days"!! LOL *** Edited 4/26/2007 8:42:41 PM UTC by tigellinus***

Depending on the type of fix needed I don't consider "a few days" out of the ordinary at all.
