X-Flights first test run.

Incase anyone is interested, a pic of it testing is here. They haven't put the theming covers on the trains yet so it looks pretty generic.

Wow, how do you spend that much on a roller coaster, then strap a tarp over it and call it a station? Lame.

^ This is what happens when a company, like Six Flags in this example, hires a CEO who knows absolutely nothing about the business other than producing profits and pleasing shareholders and Wall St. That's what Six Flags wanted coming out of bankruptcy and that is what they got. Now we know what to expect going forward.

I was thinking the same thing until I looked at some pictures of actual airplane hangers. Looks like they got the *theme* just right.

Billy

Have they built any of the buildings or the tower you pass thru?

Jeff, I think you are jumping the gun here. I expect this to be pretty cool in the theming department. At least for an SF company.

Coasterdemon has it right. The station does look like a Hangar.

Meh. It should be more aesthetically pleasing than accurate in my opinion. I always thought Top Gun/Flight Deck at KI had a great station for airplanes taking off. Of course, that was intended to be an aircraft carrier and not a hangar.

It looks like a Hangar, so it is themed correctly. I don't see what the problem is.

You're all tasteless apologists. :) Seriously, you know those things the state puts over salt piles near interstate exits? It looks like one of those. It's so cheap and temporary looking.

Also, similar to the storage structures for Cedar Point's Parade Floats. Definitely make you appreciate the extra theming that Dollywood put in.

Hmmm though they look fun, B&M's new Wing Riders look too short. They remind me of Top Gun / Flight Deck in the way that it looks like a great ride that you just want to be 30 seconds longer.

Wild Eagle's station has to be one of the nicest coaster stations I've ever seen. It feels like it should be part of a mountain resort hotel somewhere. They really did a nice job with it.

Speaking of which, there are some nice new photos contributed on our Wild Eagle page.

As long as there were misters, given the heat of the midwest, I would be more than happy with tarps covering the stations. Saves money for maintenance. ;)

Station theme aside, this looks like the best of the 2012 wing riders in terms of layout. We'll see...

The overly dramatic music on a rather dull test video is a bit....out of place?

Wow the station is a let down. I think the best station at Great America belongs to Batman, and the rest are all lacking. That being said the ride still looks excellent.
