x-flight delay

i called six flags WOA yesterday and asked if x flight would be open on saturday, which is opening day, the lady informed me that it would not be open until the end of may! well i am going on saturday and i was very disappointed, but i guess its a good thing that i have my season pass and i only live 20 minutes away, but I DONT WANT TO WAIT ANY LONGER! it is going to be hard to see it sitting there with me not on it! AHHHH!

oh yeah, this is my first post, i have been surffing here for a while though.
Aw!

At least I'll be riding Batwing for sure :)

Maybe they've decided to open Batwing and X-Flight on the same day. Hopefully this will mean that both will be fully tested for uninterupted riding this summer.
I think that Batwing and X-flight are VERY close in progress. I have been watching the X-flight progress online and thought that Batwing was far behind. This weekend I was surprised to find Batwing a complete circuit! They were working on the lift and on the station all day.

I don't know if they will open at the same time or not, but they look pretty close in progress to me now, and Batwing will not open till "late May" also.

I will be at SFWoA on May 19th. I wonder if this is considered the end of May or are they looking at Memorial Day. Damn them if thats the case.

Ill be there the 23rd, i think itle be open.
Ok, I don't get this crap. Maybe cause I am used to Cedar Point, I don't know.

What is with parks giving a press realease with only little information? What is it with parks that open their new ride AFTER opening day. This is not directed at SFGL, but why all of a sudden are parks doing this?

I am not too angered that XFlight wont be opening Saturday (I'll be there), because I know I'll ride it many times this summer. There is always Batman and Big Dipper, though.

It is not abig deal for anyone who lives near SFWoA... So what if you have to wait a few extra weeks to ride, big deal!!! The people who really get gyped are those who come from out of town.

I planned my trip to Ohio several months ago. I will be at Six Flags on the 20th (figuring that by the park's third operating weekend, X-Flight would be up and running) If the ride is not ready, I'm surely not going to spend another wad of cash getting to Ohio for a second time just to ride. So by six Flags not having the ride ready, people from out of town get no chance to ride.

It would be nice if parks could let their intentions on ride opening dates be public knowledge, instead of just letting us guess.
Seeing as how ALL winter, the papers read:

"X-Flight will be open with the park on the first weekend in May" ticks me off

In all my years going to CP as a kid (I grew up in Sandusky) I never remember them not having a ride ready on opening day... and winter on Lake Erie is a pretty unforgiving environment for construction. So if CP can get their rides done, why can't these other parks??
This worries me a little bit, I am visiting the park in Early June(June 9th I think to be exact) Do you think it will be open then, I know they say Late May now, but it could be delayed further still, you just never know.
This is quite annoying though, Why the delay?????I thought they confirmed X-Flight would still open on time, obvisously this must be true because as of yet, there is still no testing or anything yet. Oh well as long as its up and running by the start of June, I will feel a lot happier
okay you guys, delays are inevitable... you couldn't do any better, so stop complaining
As long as it is open by june 10th, i am a happy boy. Xtra, no one is saying they could do better, just that it seems other parks could.

OK, you all have two choices......

1. You can let the park do its random testing before opening the ride, making sure all is well with the computers as well as making sure the trains recline properly on the lift

or

2. Open the ride with minimal testing and have problems arise giving the coaster very sporadic operation during the season and guests continuing to get peeved about the ride not being open.

Make your decision.

And kip099, Avalanche Run did not open with the rest of Cedar Point back in 1985. It did not open till early June of that year.

May 5th, Gurnee, Illinois, "I'm sprinting for V2. Damn...not open yet. I'm the only one standing here."
the second senario in X Factor's post happend at my home park PGA with Stelth. I had to go through a 2-3 hour line and not get one ride.
I imagine that those cars are going to be a maintanence nightmare. I would really like to see this park get a ride open on time for a change. The Texas Twister didn't open until Memorial Day weekend of its first season. Grizzly Run opened very late. Mr. Hydes and Hook's Lagoon were months late opening. Hurricane Harbor and Looney Tunes Boomtown opened late last year as well. This is becoming a disturbing trend from this park that I don't like.

Hurricane Harbor doesn't open until Memorial Day weekend and half of Boomtown was open on opening night last year. Roadrunner Express was not ready by opening night but the three new big coasters were, which is all that mattered.

Yeah thats all that matters to us enthusiasts but what about families visiting the park, :(
