A little off subject, but does anybody know when X will open?

Hard to say. Could be a flop. I think a better idea would have been to build one with a lower lift elevation before jumping to near hyper height.
I disagree. I think the term 'hyper' has become a term of the past. More and more 'next-gen' coasters will be above the 200 foot mark, so much so that almost every coaster will be 'hyper'. That won't even be used as a term anymore.
End of June supposedly, but some people think it won't be done in time. I would probably agree.
As far as the previous post, I would agree...Inversions do not a great ride make...necessarily...although I LOVE the Riddler's Revenge...Ghostrider goes to show that you don't need loops or gigantism to be one of the very best. That ride derves a two arm salute!

Themeparkne, I get your point, but I would have to disagree on some points. First of all, size *does* matter. Top 10 lists steel lists are usually dominated by coasters *over* 200ft, indicating that size does indeed matter. If it isn't a hyper, then it's usually an inverted coaster, which sorry to have to say, IS a gimmick coaster. Sure a coaster doesn't have to be the tallest to thrill riders, but it certainly helps, as the popularity of MF and Goliath would indicate. People want height, speed and gimmicks. As for X, it represents all of the above and looks to be the most awesome steel coaster in many a moon. Although I would choose Nitro over most coasters most days of the week, if I had to ride it ALL the time, I'd get bored. That's where X comes in, gimmicks and all. ;)
