Thanks Jeff. Yes, pray to the Lord that I will have that special day when all the stars align as well as the track couplings on X!

Well I was lucky to ride it before it opened to the GP. My first ride, I waited about 15 to 20 min. My second ride took about an hour, had to wait for them to remove one of the trains.
Rob,
You will truely enjoy X.

Mike

I waited over 3 hours for Deja Vu, I would never even waiste my time on that.

True to my word, I am! We rule!

People have waited DAYS for movies like Star Wars, and some of you think that a measly 4 hour wait for X is nuts?

Peabody you say they arent happy then why are they waiting. Granted, I haven't been to SFMM this year but I'm sure they have signs that say 5 hours from this point. Obviously people don't mind that much because the line is constantly full when open.

Those signs mean nothing. I've waited 45 minutes for Deja Vu (full line) from the point where it said 2.5 hours.

A movie is only 7$. I know I wouldn't be a satisfied to shell out 50 bucks and have wait half of my day standing in a stinkin hot line. From what I hear, SFMM shold do something about their capicity issues. No offence to the park though. I know I will be going sometime when I have the money. The park looks like a lot of fun.

Think about this though. If I go on a five day park trip to CA, I would be spending at least $300 on a round trip plain ticket from Pittsburgh to LA, $250 for a very cheap motel, $250 for a rental car, $50 for park admission to SFMM, $200 for 4 more park admissions to other area parks, at least $25 per day for food (= $125), and at least $225 for a weeks worth of souvenirs.

That's at least $1400 which is more then I even get back on a tax return. I wouldn't be happy after dropping that kind of dough to wait 5 hours for X but I would do it nontheless.

Dexter: What do you want them to do? I mean if it can only run one train would you rather they closed it? If people want to wait in the line, then how is that MM's fault. Of course they should be working as fast as possible to get everything running smoothly, but during the time that it's not running at 100% I'm glad that they keep it open and give me the OPTION of waiting in the 5 hr. line for it.

A rollercoaster? What's that?

Yea...I know it's a good thing to at least keep it open even with 1 train opperation. I just hope that they get things worked out so the value for the admission price is there. I'm glad the ride is as populiar as it is, but something has to be done about the long wait in line.

Remember MF's first season? The waits were just as long (5 hours+) on some days. Maybe the X hype will die down after a while. MF's line has recently been approximately 1 hour on a weekday so maybe the same will happen with X.

If they don't allready, after they get both trains running, they should work out any slow loading problems, get their fastest ride opps, and hustle.

I hope they will anyway.

It's even worse when they're running only one train, partially due to their absolutely silly unloading and loading setup.

When the train arrives back in the station, it stops at the unloading dock. The seats tilt back up into an easier position for everybody to get back off. After everybody is off the train, they sit around for about 30 seconds or so, then they flip the seats back down (which isn't necessary at all for proper clearance) which takes another 20-30 seconds. The train then rolls down the track to the loading area, where the seats then go back up, which takes another 20 seconds. The gates then open for people to get on, the employees make sure the restraints are all fastened correctly, then the seats go back down, the employees manually push down the seats that didn't automatically go down, and then the train is finally off to the ramp.

While I was waiting in line to ride X, it really upset me that they had to do a bunch of needless rotating of the seats. It just seemed like a total waste of time to me. I can see how that procedure would work out perfectly if they were running 2 cars, but you would think they could skip the minute wasted on flipping the seats when they're only running one car.

When I rode X, it was only about a month old. I imagine Six Flags will eventually get all the kinks worked out of their procedures.

They rotate the seats when the train moves in the station because the train wouldn't be able to move if the seats weren't unlocked in the ride position. It's just the way the trains are designed. Another reason too is so that people can actually get out of the seats easier, thus DECREASING the unload/load times because people don't have to crawl out of the seats...

Park closed at 10, got in a 3 1/2 hour line for X at 9:30. Didn't get off the ride till 1 am but I only wasted a 1/2 hour of park time!
Yes, I know. That was a genius move

That's the only way to do the hot new coasters - that's still how I ride MF twice in a day ... I don't think I've left CP before the park closes since 1999.
