WWF Theme Park is real

well it appears that those who figured that the WWF could pull off a park were right. I just read this and was absolutly blown away by the news. my question is, though, how will they get it open by June? anybody heard anything on this? it seems kinda sudden, but to announce it right before Wrestlemania is just about perfect timing.

At the arena: Trivia with Fink, WM/Axxess ticket give aways, Tough Enough training session, announcement of WWF Niagara Falls Theme Park to open in June.

that's the text. its towards the end in the link. the site is not known for giving out false info and is run by some of the most knowledgable men in the industry so I don't doubt its credibility, but this still seems to be not quite right.

Maybe they have some sort of contract with Marineland Theme Park. They are close to Niagra Falls. I don't think it's possible to build a theme park in 3 months, unless they either are buying a defunct one, getting a contract with a current one, or making some pathetic excuse for a traveling carnival of death (most people know them simply as a carnival.)

Like I've said before, while you could do a themed attraction within a park, to think you could ever base an entire park on "pro" wrestling is crazy.

I never thought it could happen either, Jeff. and this isn't an argument on "what if," Chitown. if that report is correct, the WWF announced a theme park in Niagra Falls at WWF Fan Axxess. as I said, the site is very trust worthy despite what that report sounds like. I haven't heard anything on it other than that. there's no official announcment at WWF.com and I haven't checked Paramount.com. it appears the the WWF theme park may become a reality after all.

I don't think this is real. They may have bought a theme park or are building a theme park, but it will not be themed WWF style. It wouldn;t be successful. Plus, you are right, you can not build a park in three months. So unless they have been building it under ground somewhere and it is just going to pop up, don't get your hopes up. I think if there is any thruth behind this, than the WWF bought a park or made a contract with a park. But I don't think they will be building a park. Remember their last "big money maker". The XFL, what a joke that turned out to be.

I hope this park does happen mainly to prove all the non-WWF Fans wrong who think the park can't succeed.

1) I don't think so...2) isn't there seom "crazy" rumor about PCW moving locations...3) I don't think so...4) I've been wrong before...5) seems highly unlikely...6)stranger things have happened...7) like having a conversation with yourself in front of people...hmmmm. Still highly doubtful, 3 months I'd say impossible. Business-wise, I agree with Jeff, but then again, Cartman made a park successful...

Hey, I bet Huss will be happy about this. One of their Land of the Giants, or whatever would fit right in in a park like that, especially seeing all Huss' possible themes.

It is as possible (although highly absurd) to make a park entirely around Wrestling. Who would have thought 50 odd years ago you could make a park themed around Childrens Movies (ala Disneyland)?

I have sent an e mail to the editor of wrestling tribune newsletter I will let you all know if he responds but I highly doubt the WWF bought or are building a park I believe they have a licensing agreement with viacom wich owns the paramount chain and there hasnt been any wresting named rides announced this year It is possible that they were announcing a themed resturant like WWf newyork but I doubt that too of course we could always cross our fingers we can never have tooo many parks regardless of their theme

I am surprised it took this long for someone to express their view on wrestling. Let's just remember that this thread is about a theme park themed around WWF, not if you think wrestling is stupid or dumb. If you want to express your view that wrestling is stupid than there are other places on the web that you can do this.

Let's get back on topic about a theme park and keep our views of what we think about wrestling out of this.

I want to ride a coaster... ANY coaster.

Obviously building a theme park in 3 months is not practical. No one seems to ave mentioned another possibility. Martin's Fantasty Island is located on Grand Island just a few miles south of the falls. An arrangement with this park or and outright purchase is possible.

I find that this has more credibility than most stroies that we hear about new parks. While I haven't looked at their balance sheet, the WWF is a large organization that could quite possibly finance an amusement park. A 3 month time table would represent a purchase and possibly some quicky themeing rather than any new construction, but there are 2 possible candidates near the falls. I would guess Martin's the more likely.

Maybe they're just over exagerating the WWF Axxcess show pre-Wrestlemania...it has similar activities, and it's pretty coincidential, because this year's Wrestlemania is not too far from Niagara Falls this year in Toronto...

I e-mailed the owners of the site where I got that info, but with the busy weekend, I wouldn't expect anything until tuesday.

I'm not familiar with the Niagra Falls area, but if Paramount bought a park near there, they might (and this is only if they started working 24/7 on this a few weeks ago) be able to re-theme the park. more likely: they mean June 2003. also, I don't know where PCW is, but if the post above is correct about it moving then it could move to Niagra Falls and get an addition in the form of a WWF themed area/park. kinda like SFWOA/Sea World.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nobody cares about your opinion of pro wrestling/sports entertainment on a coaster board. so take your opinion and shove it. then start dicussing the possibilities of a WWF theme park.

now the claim seems absolutly rediculous, but that site isn't known for giving out false info. they are very knowledgable and one of the guys was even featured in Beyond The Mat so I trust what they put up on their site. the other thing is this isn't a rumor, it was an announcment at WWF Fan Axxess (for those who don't know, Axxess is a place for fans to meet wrestlers and see WWF exhibits the weekend before Wrestlemania). about the only way this report could be wrong is if the announcer was joking or if the reporter misheard the announcement.
